Washimi, SASUKE 19

Washimi Yuuji (鷲見 裕二) is a former international motocross competitor who now works as a mechanic. He has attempted SASUKE 7 times, with varying degrees of success and with his footage getting cut three times.

Washimi tried to compete in SASUKE 13 by going through the SASUKE 13 Trials, but he failed the Soritatsu Kabe and failed to qualify.

Washimi's first known competition was in SASUKE 17 where he qualified as the #1 qualifier in the SASUKE 17 Trials. In the tournament, he showed great speed and he reached the Soritatsu Kabe in good time. However, he failed to scale the wall and timed out there. After this tournament, Washimi would build a Soritatsu Kabe replica at his home.

He returned in SASUKE 18 and received #70 based on the race. There, he performed well, clearing all the new obstacles easily including the Great Wall and he went on to finish the First Stage with 9.37 seconds left. In the Second Stage, he struggled on the new Salmon Ladder struggling to get up to the fourth level. He was able to get up to the fifth level, but while trying to make it to the sixth, he failed and his grip gave way. After this defeat, Washimi built a Salmon Ladder at home to practice on.

He returned in SASUKE 19 and it is currently his best performance. During the competition, it was announced that it was his "fifth competition," so he competed two times before SASUKE 17, but it is unknown which specific tournament it was. During the competition, he had trouble starting the Log Grip but quickly got past it and cleared the redesigned Jumping Spider. Without stopping, he attempted the new Half-Pipe Attack with ease. After clearing the redesigned Soritatsu Kabe, he attempted the redesigned Flying Chute clearing it with little trouble. He then went on to finish the stage with only 3.29 seconds left, becoming the second and last person to clear the First Stage. After Yamada Koji was eliminated on the Salmon Ladder, Washimi was the last man standing. He made it up the levels of the Salmon Ladder easily but ran into major problems when trying to make it to the seventh and final level. After three failed attempts, Washimi tried one more time with time running out. However, he failed once again and fell into the water with only seconds remaining left. This marked the earliest end to a SASUKE competition.

Since he was the last man left standing, he got a high number for SASUKE 20, #1991. There, he performed well. He showed great speed, but on the Half-Pipe Attack, he mistimed his release from the rope and missed the platform, falling into the water below. He competed again in SASUKE 21. Wearing #89, he was all cut, but it is known that he failed the Flying Chute.

After a two tournament break, he returned for SASUKE 24 wearing #84. He struggled on the Slider Jump and barely managed to clear with 0.92 seconds left. After that, he took his revenge on the Salmon Ladder and even managed to clear the Unstable Bridge and the redesigned Balance Tank, but he ultimately failed the Metal Spin.
