The Wall Drop is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the fourth obstacle on American Ninja Warrior 8 in Philadelphia. On this obstacle:
- Competitors must use their upper-body to climb a small cannonball, followed by four nunchucks, until they could use their feet to reach the wobbly wall and sit on it.
- Then, competitors must time their release and drop 11-ft from the wall to the trampoline, hopefully got enough bounce to grab one one of the two hanging pipes, and then swung it to reach the landing platform.
The trampoline part of the obstacle required eye coordination for the competitors, to make sure they would land at a good spot on the trampoline, in order for them to grab onto the pipes. The Wall Drop was moderately tricky for some competitors, mainly due to bad coordination on the drop to the trampoline. The obstacle had took out many competitors in Philadelphia qualifying, including Amy Pajcic, Faris Xero, Jessica Britten, Dave Cavanagh, Mike Meyers, Mike Shuck, James Wilson, Clint Sarion, Akiva Neuman, Paul Hamm and Eliannah Hunderfund. This obstacle took out 20 competitors during Philadelphia qualifiers. During Philadelphia finals, it was notable for wiping out Miles Avery, Rachael Goldstein, Lori Adams, and Tyler Cravens.
The obstacle had several similarities with the Bouncing Spider, which would later appear as the third obstacle on American Ninja Warrior 9 in Denver and American Ninja Warrior 10 in Dallas. Specifically, the second part of the Bouncing Spider (the trampoline and the pipes) functioned similarly to the second part of the Wall Drop.
