Vincent “Vinnie” Castranova is a plumber from Fort Lauderdale, Florida who competed in six seasons of American Ninja Warrior.
American Ninja Warrior 10[]
Vinnie first competed in Miami for his rookie season. His run was all cut, but he was one of the several to fail the fourth obstacle, Ring Turn, losing his grip after struggling to grab onto the third ring. He did not go far enough to advance to the city finals.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
He returned to compete in American Ninja Warrior 13, participating in the first qualifier round. Although his run was digested, he managed to get revenge on the fourth obstacle (this time being the Tipping Point) and he became one of five competitors to finish the qualifying course, placing 4th overall. He was also one of just two veterans and non-teenagers to finish the course at that time, the other one being Jody Avila.
Castranova returned in the third semifinals episode. His run was cut, but it was revealed he went out on the Drop Zone and he didn’t move on to Vegas.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
He returned for his third season, once again in the first qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he once again cleared the course, this time doing so with the 2nd fastest time, once again advancing him to the semifinals right behind R.J. Roman. Additionally, he also proposed to his girlfriend after clearing and she said yes. Unfortunately, on the day that he was supposed to compete in the semifinals, he tested positive for COVID, and had to withdraw as a result.
American Ninja Warrior 15[]
He returned for his fourth season in the fourth qualifying episode. His run was cut, but he managed to save himself on Greased Lightning after he didn't dismount on the first swing and he was later disqualified on The Cubes for not locking in the final cube before dismounting, marking his first qualifying fail since American Ninja Warrior 10. He still placed 5th overall, and he once again advanced to the semifinals.
Vinnie raced Bob Reese during the semifinals. Both competitors ultimately finished the course, with Vinnie having the edge over Bob. This meant that Vinnie would earn a spot in his first national finals. Bob still advanced via a spot in the top two non-winners.
His run at the national finals was digested, but he failed the Jumping Spider, ending his best season to date.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Vinnie returned in season 16 on the eighth qualifier. His run was digested, but he made short work of the first four obstacles, but was one of many to fail on Ring the Bells with every time they showed him clearing the obstacle, it would ‘flush’ around the screen. He placed 5th overall and advanced to the semifinals, but it was also shown that Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila tried to stick the plungers together, which didn’t work.
Vinnie raced Josiah Singleton during the last round of semifinals. Their race was digested, but Josiah ultimately failed on the Wingnuts, securing Vinnie the win and his second straight trip to the national finals, and he ultimately went out on Spin Hopper.
His run at the national finals was digested, but he failed the Jumping Spider for the second season in a row. This also marked his first time not hitting a buzzer since his debut season in ANW10.
American Ninja Warrior 17[]
Vinnie returned to compete in American Ninja Warrior 17 in the 4th episode, his run was cut but he failed Log Grip. This is unconfirmed.
