Intro[]
The third VIKING tournament, official name: 海筋肉王 "バイキング" スペシャル: 全世界最強王決定戦 (Umi Kin'niku-ō VIKING SP: Zen Sekai Saikyō-ō Kettei-sen, literally Sea Muscle King "VIKING" Special: World's Strongest King Championship), was the third VIKING tournament that was filmed on September 17, 2005 and aired on October 4, 2005. The course was heavily changed from the previous tournament due to close call by Nagano Makoto in the previous tournament. Two new obstacles, Alphabet Parley and Island Escape, were added to First Marine Stage. Two more obstacles, Color Fusion and Tactical Parley, were added to Second Adventure Stage. Both Brain Ship Stage and Third Fantasy Stage were deleted altogether and the new Hawkeye, the relocated Steady Voyager, Ultimate Plank (both Third Fantasy Stage), and Heartbreaker (Second Adventure Stage) became the new Final VIKING.
First Marine Stage became significantly more difficult with the new obstacles, with only six competitors managing to clear. Nagano Makoto, who had reached Final VIKING in the previous tournament, was surprisingly defeated by Parley. TERU, though clearing, had to withdraw during the stage transition due to injury sustained on Swing Mast.
Ultimately, two competitors, Minamide Kimihiro and Maeda Sho, made it to Final VIKING, becoming the second and third competitors to do so. However, both failed Ultimate Plank and Steady Voyager respectively, once more leaving Kanzenseiha unreached.
