Tobias "Tobi" Plangger is an Austrian professional climber who participated in the regular Ninja Warrior Germany Season 6 and in Ninja Warrior Germany All-Stars 2. During his relatively short career on Ninja Warrior Germany, Tobias Plangger has still left a significant mark, and during his debut season, he was even considered as the top secret favourite to win the entire show, mainly due to his great athletic skills and his sports background. In both of the aforementioned seasons, he managed to get all the way to the Finals, and in the former one, he reached the second to last obstacle of that seasons Second Stage (the Dragonback). After a 2-year hiatus due to his great successes in his speed climbing career, it was revealed that he would be making his return in Ninja Warrior Germany 9.

Tobias Plangger is a professional climber, specializing in the discipline of Speed Climbing. In this discipline, he is often regarded as the best Austrian and is known for his amazing successes over the last four years. The most notable successes include the following:

  • Austrian Record, 5.87 seconds (Formerly).
  • European Youth Champion 2019.
  • Austrian Champion 2020.
  • World Championships 2021 - Moscow (Russia), 5th place.
  • IFSC - Climbing World Cup (B,S) - Salt Lake City (USA) 2022, 2nd place.
  • Junior European Championships - Voronezh (Russia), 1st place.

Ninja Warrior Germany[]

Ninja Warrior Germany 6[]

Tobias competed in the final round of qualifying during Ninja Warrior Germany 6 where he was only one of two able to clear the dangerous Déjà Vu and the whole course qualifying for the Power Tower. In his first race, he raced against the fourth place finisher, Chris Harmat which he won moving onto the final race where Tobias raced against Joel Mattli which he won once again getting the Speed Pass for his round, earning his spot in the Finals. In the finals, he shockingly failed the Criss Cross Salmon Ladder but still move on by winning on the Power Tower. He was the final runner for Stage One but he was able to finish the course with just over 12 seconds left moving onto Stage Two. On Stage Two, he got through the first three obstacles easily, but shockingly failed the Dragonback ending his rookie season.

Ninja Warrior Germany 9[]

With the release of the official RTL-press portfolio for Ninja Warrior Germany 9 on the RTL Media Hub website, it was confirmed that Tobias Plangger participated in that season, making his return to the show after a 2-year hiatus. Tobias competed in the sixth preliminary round of the season where he was able to finish the course with the second fastest time this time around (even getting through the dangerous Kaleidoscope) which gave him the chance to be competing on the Super Salmon Ladder where he was able to clear the Super Salmon Ladder becoming the thirteenth person to do so this season and the twenty-fifth to do so in Ninja Warrior Germany history but finished almost two seconds slower than Tim Wolf which cost him his second Speed Pass but still moved onto the semifinals. Tobias competed in the second half of the semifinals where he was able to get through the first two obstacles with ease where he made it through the first two Jawbreakers but on the third cradle he made it into the cradle but couldn't hold on losing his grip sending him into the water, he was shown to be heartbroken in his interview after his run. He didn't go far enough fast enough to qualify for Stage One, ending his season early.
