In the regular Ninja Warrior Germany seasons, the Third Stage, also known as Stage 3, or Runde 3, is the third of four courses of the Finals of Ninja Warrior Germany.
Regular Competitions[]
Ninja Warrior Germany 1[]
Format Overview[]
The Stage 3 course or (Runde 3) was the only Finals course with no time limit as the obstacle inside of that stage were brutal and punishing for the upper body. In the first season however, no one attempted Runde 3 as Oliver Edelmann failed the 4th obstacle of Stage 2, the Unstable Bridge.
Course/Stage Layout[]
The course was in a straight line with platforms in between, one at the starting portion, and it was connected to the Stage 2 (Runde 2) course after the buzzer and there was one other platform at the end of Stage 3 with a black dismount pad to prevent injuries.
Obstacle Layout[]
The first obstacle was the Floating Boards where the athlete had to grab onto 4 red and white boards suspended by chains above and the athlete was not allowed to grab the top of the board and they had to grab the side of the board using only their hands and feet to traverse across the 4 boards and dismount on the other side.
The second obstacle was the Ultimate Cliffhanger where the athlete had to traverse the red and white-arrowed covered structure using only the white ledges, and the first 1st to 3rd ledges were angled to make them harder and the 4th and final ledges were straight, while the 5th ledge was higher up than the rest, so the athlete had to swing and lache to the 5th ledge ledge and then make the final drop down to the final straight ledge and dismount.
The final obstacle of Stage 3 was the Flying Bar where any athlete still standing then must grab the lache bar to get to the bar that is resting in the first cradle where they had to lache up with the bar in the hands to the next cradle and it had to be repeated twice and then they have to lache the bar down to the final cradle which was downwards and then they had to take a backswing to dismount and complete Stage 3.
Competitors[]
No one attempted this version of Stage 3 since Oliver Edelmann, the Last Ninja Standing failed the 4th obstacle of Stage 2.
Summary[]
This was a simple 3rd Stage that was a classic test of upper body and grip strength designed to protect the Final Stage or Runde 4.
Ninja Warrior Germany 2[]
Format Overview[]
The Stage 3 course or (Runde 3) was the only Finals course with no time limit as the obstacle inside of that stage were brutal and punishing for the upper body. In the second season, for the first time ever, this stage was attempted by both Moritz Hans and Renรฉ Casselly and Benjamin Grams.
The first obstacle of Stage 3 was the Curved Body Prop where the athlete had to wedge themselves in between the 2 walls that curved downwards and then upwards and it was designed to burn your core strength early.
The second obstacle was the Floating Boards where the athlete had to grab onto 4 red and white boards suspended by chains above and the athlete was not allowed to grab the top of the board and they had to grab the side of the board using only their hands and feet to traverse across the 4 boards and dismount on the other side.
The third obstacle was the Ultimate Cliffhanger where the athlete had to traverse the red and white-arrowed covered structure using only the white ledges, and the layout was changed as the first 3 ledges stayed the same but the 4th one was moved a tiny bit upwards to make the transfer to the 5th ledge easier and the final ledge on the wall was removed and instead, they had to make a Crazy Cliffhanger like transfer to the other hanging ledge which matched the color of the wall and ledge from the main wall and swing to the dismount. It is to note that there was no foothold below the 5th ledge, so the athlete could use the wall below them or place their legs on the previous ledge to make the transfer easier.
The fourth and final obstacle of Stage 3 was the Flying Bar where any athlete still standing then must grab the lache bar to get to the bar that is resting in the first cradle where they had to lache up with the bar in the hands to the next cradle and it had to be repeated 3 times, then they had to take a backswing to dismount and complete Stage 3.
Competitors[]
Moritz Hans was the first competitor ever to reach Stage 3 in this competition and he made it all the way to the Ultimate Cliffhanger before falling the transfer between the 4th and 5th ledges.
Renรฉ Casselly was the 2nd to attempt Stage 3 (Runde 3) and just like his fellow competitor Moritz Hans, he too made it to the Ultimate Cliffhanger but failed the transfer between the 3rd and 4th ledges.
Benjamin Grams was the fastest of Stage 2, so he got to attempt Stage 3 last, and he made it to the 2nd obstacle, the Floating Boards, but failed the transfer from the final board to the dismount.
Summary[]
This was a much improved Stage 3 and it was finally attempted by 3 competitors in Ninja Warrior: Germany history as Moritz Hans was crowned Last Ninja Standing for Season 2, getting the furthest on the Ultimate Cliffhanger.
