Team Ronin is a team on American Ninja Warrior's team ninja competition franchise. Members have include David "Flip" Rodriguez, JJ Woods, Tiana Webberley, and Meagan Martin.
The word Ronin means "Warrior" in Japanese. They have the most wins throughout all the team competitions.
Team Ninja Warrior[]
Team Ronin first appeared in Team Ninja Warrior, consisting of Flip Rodriguez as the captain and his teammates, JJ Woods and Tiana Webberley. They first competed against Karsonic Boom in Episode 4:
- JJ Woods won the first race against Brandon Berrett,
- In the second race, Tiana and Beth Higginbotham both fell on the Log Grip, but Tiana won the race since, she was the first to reach the obstacle,
- Unfortunately Flip Rodriguez, lost the anchor run against Karson Voiles,
- But Flip redeemed himself by winning against Karson in a rematch at the sudden death race.
They ran as the top bracket in the knockout round, where they went up against the Wild Bunch:
- JJ Woods won the first race against Lance Pekus,
- Tiana won the second race against Rose Wetzel, and she even scaled the Warped Wall and hit the buzzer,
- Flip Rodriguez won the Anchor run against Ben Melick, which guaranteed Team Ronin a spot in the relay showdown.
They went up against the Think Tank in the showdown and won, in which they moved on to the finals.
Team Ronin competed in Episode 7 of the finals. They went up against Team TNT:
- JJ won the first race against Adam Arnold, who fell at the Dancing Stones,
- Tiana won the second race against Joyce Shahboz, who fell on the Spin Cycle,
- In the anchor run, even though he and Travis Rosen were neck in neck, Flip hit the buzzer in less than a second before Rosen did.
Team Ronin then ran as the top bracket again in Round 2, where they went up against Stratis Faction:
- Flip Rodriguez won the first race against Mike Bernardo,
- Tiana won the second race against Grace Jones, who fell on the Spin Cycle,
- Unfortunately, JJ Woods fell on the Dancing Stones and lost the anchor run against Ryan Stratis,
- Flip then ran against Ryan Stratis in the sudden death race, but lost, and the team was eliminated from the competition.
Team Ninja Warrior 2[]
The team returned to compete on Team Ninja Warrior 2. They first competed in Episode 7, against the InvincAbels:
- JJ Woods won the first race against Geoff Lancaster, who fell on the Ring of Fire,
- Tiana then won the second race against Jeri D'Aurelio,
- But Flip Rodriguez fell on the Ring of Fire and lost to Abel Gonzalez,
- JJ then ran in the sudden death race against Gonzalez and won the two points for Team Ronin.
They ran as the top bracket in Round 2 against Ninja Brittens:
- JJ won the first race against Mike Chick, who fell on the Ring of Fire,
- Tiana won the second race against Sarah Schoback, who fell on the Swing Jump,
- In the anchor run, Flip Rodriguez and Geoff Britten both fell on the Ring of Fire, making it Flip's second failure on the obstacle. He still won, though, as he was the first to reach the obstacle.
Proceeding to the Relay Showdown. Team Ronin went up against the Towers Of Power, where there were several lead changes in the race, with Dan Polizzi passing Flip up on the Fly Wheels, and then JJ surpassing Brandon Mears on the Invisible Ladder and hitting the buzzer first. Team Ronin was guaranteed a spot in the finals.
The team competed in Episode 10 where they went up against Think Tank in Round 1:
- JJ won the first race against Noah Kaufman,
- Tiana won the second race against Asya Grechka,
- But Flip lost the anchor run against Matt Wilder,
- JJ then ran in the sudden death race against Matt Wilder. JJ won this race, because Matt fell on the Swing Jump.
Going up against team Iron Grip in Round 2:
- JJ lost the first race against Scott Wilson,
- Tiana lost the second race to Barclay Stockett, marking Tiana's first ever loss in team ninja competition,
- Finally, Flip lost the anchor run against Daniel Gil. Therefore, the team was eliminated from the competition.
American Ninja Warrior: Ninja Vs. Ninja[]
Team Ronin returned for the spin-off, American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja. However, Meagan Martin, replaced Tiana Webberley from the previous 2 years of team ninja competition. They first competed in Episode 1 where they first went up against West Coast Warriors:
- Despite the fact that they were neck and neck, JJ Woods won the first race against JB Douglas,
- In the second race, Meagan banged her head on the Flying Shelf Grab, but still managed to clear it and hit the buzzer at the top of the Warped Wall, while her opponent Lindsay Eskildsen fell on the Flying Shelf Grab,
- Flip then won the third race, as Alan Connealy fell on the dismount from the Criss Cross Ring Toss. Flip cleared the rest of the course and hit the buzzer at the top of the Warped Wall.
They went up against Nicholas Coolridge and the Hashtag Ninjas in Round 2:
- In the first race, Nicholas Coolridge was able to pull ahead of JJ on the Criss Cross Ring Toss. JJ did catch up to Nicholas on the Flying Shelf Grab, but he shockingly fell on the transition to the resting bar. Therefore, he lost against Nicholas, who competed the obstacle,
- Meagan did win the second race, however, as her opponent Larissa Cottle fell on the Flying Shelf Grab,
- During the third race, Flip got ahead of Jesse La Flair, but then, he shockingly fell on the transition to the lache bar on the Flying Shelf Grab. Jesse La Flair passed him up and Flip lost the race,
- But Team Ronin was able to come through by winning the two back-to-back relay races against the Hashtag Ninjas, Therefore, Team Ronin moved on to the playoffs.
Team Ronin competed in Episode 15 against The Ballers in Round 1:
- JJ fell on the Hanging Staircase and lost the first race against Paul Kasemir,
- Meagan won the second race against Meiling Huang,
- But Flip fell on the Floating Tiles and lost the third race against Lorin Ball,
- The team did come through by winning back-to-back relay races.
Going up against the Lab Rats in Round 2:
- JJ fell on the Zig Zag Climb and lost the first race against Chris Wilczewski,
- In the second race, Meagan Martin and Michelle Warnky made history as the second and third women to finish the extended course. Meagan was the first to reach the buzzer, therefore, she won the race and got her 10th individual win as a result,
- Flip then won the third race as Brian Wilczewski fell on the Hanging Staircase,
- The team then won the relay race as Michelle Warnky fell on the Salmon Ladder and Team Ronin moved on to the final.
In Episode 16, Team Ronin went up against team Iron Grip in Round 1:
- JJ lost the first race against Mathis Owhadi,
- Meagan Martin got her 11th individual win by winning the second race against Tiana Webberley,
- Flip won the third race against Daniel Gil,
- During the first relay race, Flip fell on the Wingnuts and Daniel beat JJ to the buzzer by 0.6 seconds,
- But in the second relay, Mathis fell on the Floating Tiles and Team Ronin won the relay and advanced to Round 2.
Going up against the LaBreckfast Club in Round 2:
- JJ won the first race as Chris DiGangi fell on the Tick Tock,
- Meagan fell on the Wingnuts and lost the second race against Jesse Labreck. This was Meagan's first individual loss,
- Flip lost the third race against Jon Alexis Jr.,
- The team also lost the relay race that followed and finished as the runner up that season.
