The Tail Impossible (テイルインポッシブル) was an event introduced in the second Celebrity Survival Battle in 2nd Celebrity Sportsman No. 1 and has been a notable Sportsman event ever since.
The event involves competitors running around a track for a specific number of laps for a total of 400 meters per race, with the last competitors finishing the laps being eliminated from the event. The number of competitors eliminated per round may vary and would continue until the fastest competitor to complete the laps of the fourth race being the No. 1 of the event.
The interval between each round is 90 seconds which begun on the first competitor that complete each race. In other words, when competitors completes a race fast, they have more time to rest and vice versa for being slow. There would also be instances especially in its early appearances where competitors would drop out of the event due to too much fatigue.
This event would appear in ten Pro Sportsman Tournament and twelve Celebrity Survival Battles.
Track Layout[]
Throughout its appearances in Sportsman, there has been various changes made in terms of the number of laps and distances competitors must make throughout its lifetime.
In its first appearance in the 2nd Celebrity Sportsman No. 1, each round would consist of 5 laps of 80 meters. This layout would also occur in the 3rd and 5th Celebrity Sportsman No. 1. But this would later be changed to 4 laps of 100 meters, which was first introduced in Pro Sportsman No. 1 1998, reintroduced in 7th Celebrity Sportsman No. 1 and has been the format ever since.
