Revision as of 10:27, 20 June 2020

Tada Tatsuya (多田 竜也) was born July 6, 1992 (age 31) and competed in SASUKE 17.

He was all cut in his first appearance, but it is known he wore #39 where he almost cleared the First Stage in his rookie attempt at the age of 14. He timed out on the Rope Climb, the final obstacle of the First Stage that tournament.

In his next appearance in SASUKE 19, he was digested. He was shown to have failed the Jumping Spider when he didn't get far enough in the walls.

He returned to SASUKE after a 10-year absence (since SASUKE 19) in SASUKE 34 wearing #56. There, he became one of many competitors to fail the Fish Bone when he lost his balance about halfway across.

He competed again in SASUKE 35 wearing #68, where he failed the new Dragon Glider in a digested performance - failing to even make it to the bar.

In SASUKE 36, Tada wore #73. He got revenge on the Dragon Glider and cleared the First Stage for the first time with 9.73 seconds left. He was digested in the Second Stage, but cleared with 11.08 seconds left. In the Third Stage, he cleared the first 3 obstacles and even cleared the Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger. However he couldn't get a grip on the last ledge of the Vertical Limit Kai and failed there.

In SASUKE 37, Tada wore #49. He cleared the First Stage with 6.93 seconds left. And then, he cleared the Second Stage with 19.12 seconds left. In the Third Stage, he cleared the first 3 obstacles and became the first competitor to complete the Cliffhanger Dimension. Later, he completed the Vertical Limit Kai (being only the second person in 6 tournaments to do so, after Morimoto) and Pipe Slider, advancing to the Final Stage. In the live Final Stage, he started off with a fast pace but halfway through the Salmon Ladder Jūgo Dan, the bar would land unevenly, causing him most of his time correcting it. He would eventually time out on the obstacle about 12 meters up.

He trains for SASUKE and has a YouTube channel where he uploads videos of him training with his friends from SASUKE. He is good friends with many of the young competitors, including Morimoto Yusuke.

Trivia

  • His Final Stage appearance in SASUKE 37 was the first time since SASUKE 3 where a competitor who ran in the first half of the field (#1-50) made it to the Final Stage.
  • He was initially given the number #46, a relatively low position given his Third Stage appearance in the previous tournament. There were rumours that he asked for a low number to avoid pressure of running in the 80s-90s as expected. Due to the scheduling change caused by the rain, some competitors could no longer compete, resulting in Tada's number being changed to #49. Had Tada's initial number remained, he would've been the first competitor in SASUKE's history to be the first clear in the First, Second, and Third Stage in the same tournament.
