The Tackle Machine (タックルマシン) was the first obstacle of SASUKE 5's Second Stage, replacing the first half of the Spider Walk.

Competitors must push a 50kg (110 lbs) weight down a tunnel to reach the exit. This obstacle was infallible, unless the competitors timed out (which no one even came close to doing). It was replaced by the Narrow in the next tournament.

Tackle

After 15 years since its first tournament debut, the Tackle Machine returned as the Tackle (タックル) in SASUKE 31's First Stage, which removed the first wall from the Ni Ren Soritatsu Kabe, thus returning the Soritatsu Kabe as the sixth obstacle in the process.

Competitors have to keep pushing three boxes on a 12m track until the three boxes are joined altogether.

The boxes each weigh 140kg (roughly 308 lbs), 160kg (roughly 352 lbs) and 180kg (roughly 396 lbs) from the first to the third box respectively. In total, competitors have to push the weight of 480kg (roughly 1058 lbs) to the end.

However, for female competitors, they will only need to push a total of 240kg (roughly 529 lbs) of weight to the end, each weigh 70kg (roughly 154 lbs), 80kg (roughly 176 lbs) and 90kg (roughly 198 lbs) from the first to the third box respectively.

Only once a certain amount of the boxes are inside the competitor can go over the boxes to the next obstacle, which is determined with the black and yellow line. They don't have to push the entire contraption in.

The netting in the first box is there to assist them in getting over the boxes and onto the platform. Although this obstacle has a very high success rate, it was proven to be a massive energy drainer for the competitors. As the result, most competitors got tired and eventually timed out at the Soritatsu Kabe (e.g. Nagano Makoto, Urushihara Yuuji, and Matachi Ryo).

In SASUKE 32, the Tackle was modified by increasing its weight to 240kg (roughly 529 lbs), 300kg (roughly 661 lbs), and 320kg (roughly 705 lbs), from the first to the third box respectively.

This tally a total weight of 860kg (roughly 1895 lbs), almost to a ton. Due to that notorious weight, a lot of competitors got fatigue after completing the obstacle and timed out at the Soritatsu Kabe.

However, to make it easier for female competitors, the weight was toned down to 80kg (roughly 176 lbs), 100kg (roughly 220 lbs) and 120kg (roughly 264 lbs) from the first to the third box respectively.

Due to the lenient time limit in SASUKE 33 and SASUKE 34, although the weight was kept the same, more competitors cleared the Soritatsu Kabe after that. However, the strict time limit from SASUKE 35 made the Soritatsu Kabe became harder.
