Storm Team (formerly known as Storm Team Moravsky) is a team on the Team Ninja Warrior series. Captain Joe Moravsky has been the team's constant on both seasons. Other members have included cousin Rob Moravsky, Marybeth Wang, Josh Levin, and Allyssa Beird. Storm Team was crowned the champions of Team Ninja Warrior 2.
Team Ninja Warrior[]
The team made its debut on Team Ninja Warrior as Storm Team Moravsky. Captain Joe recruited his cousin Rob "the Adonis" and Marybeth for the roster. They first competed on Episode 1 against Average JoJo's:
- Rob lost the first race against Jimmy Bogle Jr.. Despite being neck in neck during the first two obstacles, Rob got hung up on the Swing Jump while Bogle pushed ahead. Rob tried to rush and catch up, but his foot missed the third Dancing Stone, and it was all over. Bogle later cleared the course,
- Marybeth, however, won the next race against Caitlyn Shukwit. Marybeth pulled ahead on the Log Grip, and Caitlyn got hung up on the Swing Jump, causing her to fall greatly behind. While Marybeth lost ground on the Pole Grasper, Caitlyn had trouble transitioning between poles and eventually slid into the water, giving Marybeth the win,
- Then, Joe defeated Jo Jo Bynum in the Anchor Run. They were neck in neck the whole race, briefly gaining and losing ground every obstacle. Moravsky briefly fell behind on the Swing Jump, but managed to regain ground on the Pole Grasper. Eventually, despite Moravsky missing his first try on the Warped Wall, he managed to hit the buzzer when Bynum could not scale the wall. This gave Storm Team Moravsky the top bracket in Round 2.
There, Storm Team Moravsky would face G-Force in Round 2:
- Rob and Travis Brewer were evenly matched at the beginning, but Rob pulled ahead when Travis had to take a second swing on the Swing Jump. However, Rob hesitated on the Dancing Stones and lost his ground, even being blocked off by Travis on the Pole Grasper, which cost him the win.
- Marybeth didn't have much better luck against Jessie Graff. She fell behind on the Sonic Swing, and despite closing the gap on the Swing Jump, she moved slowly through the next two obstacles and eventually lost to Jessie,
- But Joe won the Anchor Run against Nicholas Coolridge. Both were trading first place through the whole race, with Nicholas briefly leading when he cleared the Dancing Stones in two jumps, but Joe making a massive leap on the Pole Grasper and managing to just barely defeat Nicholas by a matter of seconds,
- They both ran again in the Sudden Death race, and once again, Joe beat Nicholas to guarantee a spot in the Relay Showdown.
Despite having an early lead, they lost the Relay Showdown after Team TNT captain Travis Rosen passed up Joe, handing him his first loss.
They earned a wildcard spot in the Finals and competed again in episode 8. However, they got badly beaten in their matches against Lab Rats and Party Time and got eliminated.
Team Ninja Warrior 2[]
Captain Joe Moravsky overhauled his team and returned for Team Ninja Warrior 2. First, the Moravsky got dropped from their name, now called Storm Team. Then, he replaced Rob and Marybeth with Josh Levin and Allyssa Beird. This revamped Storm Team made its debut in the fifth episode. The new team members got off to a rough start with their match up against Flowmingo:
- Allyssa lost the first race against Luci Romberg,
- Josh lost the second race against Alan Connealy,
- But Joe won the Anchor Run against JB Douglas, who fell on the Ring of Fire,
- Joe and JB had a rematch in the sudden death race. This time, both got to the top of the Warped Wall and hit the buzzer at almost the same time. After an instant replay, Joe hit the buzzer in less than a second before JB, giving Storm Team the win in Round 1.
They ran as the top bracket in Round 2 against Team Alpha:
- Josh lost the first race against Dillon Gates,
- Allyssa lost the second race against Kacy Catanzaro,
- Yet once again, Joe came through in the clutch in the Anchor Run against Brent Steffensen, with Joe breaking the record for the fastest season 2 finish in under 32 seconds,
- Joe and Brent had a rematch in the sudden death race. This time, Brent fell on the Ring of Fire, giving Storm Team a spot in the Relay Showdown.
Going up against Karsten's Fast Kats, Allyssa got the team off to a rough start. She fell on the Swing Jump, giving Joe a 10-second penalty on the next three obstacles. However, Joe made up most of that time, and after champion speed climber Josh got the tag, he was able to surpass Karsten Williams at the Invisible Ladder and hit the buzzer, sending them to the finals. Overall, Storm team is the only team so far that had gotten a 10-second penalty, but still managed to win the relay showdown.
On episode 10, Storm Team in the first week of the finals, as they went against Iron Grip in Round 1:
- Josh got his first individual win, as he hit the buzzer in his Round 1 race against Nate Burkhalter, who dislocated his right shoulder on the Floating Tiles,
- On the next race, Allyssa had a strong lead against Barclay Stockett. On the Tire Swing, though, Barclay went inverted on the tires to get ahead and took an early dismount. Allyssa then lost to Barclay, who was the first to the buzzer,
- In the Anchor Run, Joe was evenly matched throughout against Iron Grip captain Daniel Gil. However, he was able to pull off the Round 1 victory, breaking his own record for the fastest season 2 finish in 30.85 seconds.
By the Knockout Round, all the members of Storm Team got on the same page, as they each won their races against the Think Tank, including Allyssa in her first ever buzzer at the Warped Wall.
They proceeded to win the Relay Showdown in a rematch against Iron Grip and secured a spot in the Championship Relay.
The Championship Relay took place in episode 11, and in order to claim the Season 2 trophy, Storm Team had to run against the same team that knocked them out in the first Relay Showdown on the previous season, Team TNT, which now included former Storm Team member Marybeth Wang. After Marybeth fell on the Ring of Fire, Team TNT had a 10-second penalty on them, which allowed Storm Team to win the Championship Relay and become the Team Ninja Warrior Season 2 Champions.
Since their victory, captain Joe Moravsky announced on Twitter that neither he nor Storm Team will appear on season 3, which will see the show rebranded as American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja.
