Welcome to the Standard Editing Procedure for Sasukepedia. This manual will teach you everything from the general basics of wiki editing, moving all the way through to the use of templates and beyond. If you are already well versed in Wiki editing basics, you might want to skip on over to the next few tutorials, to get an idea as to the standard editing protocol here on Sasukepedia.
By Standard Editing Procedure, we mean that we here on Sasukepedia not only edit wiki by using wiki specific markup and templates, but we format and structure in a way that is similar across similarly related articles. Such as a specific format competitor pages, obstacle pages, and competition pages. Even editors have some tools to improve their individual pages but aren't required to format in a specific way like other pages.
So, before we begin, let's layout what will be covered in the manual, that way you can gauge what you do or don't know how to do, and can get around to specific sections of this manual with ease.
Sections
- SEP Wiki 101 - Basic introduction to wiki editing, how to use different formatting techniques such as bold, italics, links to internal articles, external links to outside websites, sectioning an article using headlines, etc.
- SEP Wiki 102 - Adding in some external content to the wiki articles, such as images or video. A brief explanation on the use of templates is explored, but expanded upon in later sections.
- SEP Wiki 103 - Talk Pages and their use in community relations and collaborative editing on Sasukepedia. Talk pages play a large role in any wiki, you can use them to leave messages for others, or to discuss the current state or future of an article.
- SEP Sasukepedia 101 - Briefly touching upon the standard editing practices for the various types of article pages here on Sasukepedia. We won't go into great detail, but we will go over the basics for competitor pages, competition pages, and obstacle pages. In addition, we will introduce some of our templates.
- SEP Sasukepedia 102 - Going into more detail on how to properly edit and format general articles on Sasukepedia that aren't competitor profiles, competition articles, or obstacle articles. Pages such as this are typically the general pages for each show, as well as pages relating to production and broadcast companies.
- SEP Sasukepedia Competitors - Going into great detail about the ins and outs of editing an article for a competitor. Topics range from order of section headlines, to the various details that should and shouldn't be present in an article. Detailed explanation on the use of the Competitor template will be explained here.
- SEP Sasukepedia Competitions - Going into great detail about the ins and outs of editing an article for a competition. Topics range from order of section headlines, to the various details that should and shouldn't be present in an article. - SEP Sasukepedia Obstacles - Going into great detail about the ins and outs of editing an article for a competitor. Topics range from order of section headlines, to the various details that should and shouldn't be present in an article. Detailed explanation on the use of the Obstacles template will be explained here.
- SEP Sasukepedia Results - Going into great detail about the ins and outs of editing results for an article, be it competitor, obstacle, or competition. This offers a detailed explanation on how to create the proper wiki table, and use the correct color codes to generate a wiki in the proper format. Potential "problems" that may arise in making a table "perfect" are also explained here.
