According to Japanese media, the correct way to count the competitions is to include every tournament in chronological order instead of grouping the various kinds of tournaments separately. Each Sportsman show regardless of its kind, would have a Roman Number placed on the end of its Japanese name.

Celebrity Sportsman No. 1 is similar in style to Pro Sportsman No. 1 where competitors take on a series of physical and mental events, where better performance is rewarded with more points and whomever has the most points at the end of the competition wins. The main difference between the two however, is the competitors; where Pro Sportsman focuses on athletes, Celebrity Sportsman focuses on celebrities, comedians, so on and so forth.
