The Spin Off (スピンオフ) was an event introduced in the twelfth Celebrity Survival Battle in 12th Celebrity Sportsman No. 1 and has been a prominent Sportsman event especially in its late tournaments.
The event itself involves a large sphere with a diameter of 1m 50cm placed in the center of a 9m square ring that is divided diagonally, with one area corresponding to a competitor's area. Competitors must roll the sphere and drop the large sphere outside the opponent's territory to advance.
In order to prevent ambiguity, a pole is placed on both ends of the boundary between the two areas. If competitors managed to roll the sphere over the poles, an instant replay can determine how much area is covered more by the sphere before falling off the ring.
The winning competitor would advance to the next rounds of tug-of-war. This process continues in the further rounds until the last round where the lone winner of the round becomes the No. 1 of the event.
This event would appear in two Pro Sportsman Tournaments and seven Celebrity Survival Battles.
