ANW11 Snap Back

American Ninja Warrior 11's Snap Back in Oklahoma City

The Snap Back is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the ninth obstacle during Oklahoma City finals on American Ninja Warrior 11.

The obstacle consisted of two sets of horizontal bars, each was placed on a seesaw (a similar mechanism from the Cargo Crossing). The second bar had Plexiglas behind it, requiring the competitors to grab the second bar by using a reverse grip. At the end of the obstacle, they will make a 10-ft dismount to the landing platform.

In total, 11 competitors attempted the obstacle and six competitors failed to complete it, including Josh Salinas, Nick Fordney, and Jeff Harris.

Later on the same season, the Snap Back reappeared as the third obstacle in Stage Two, replacing the Déjà Vu from the previous season. This time, the obstacle only eliminated Dan Polizzi and Karson Voiles (who later completed the obstacle, thanks to the Safety Pass that he earned during Seattle-Tacoma finals). During USA vs. The World 6, it eliminated Team Australia's Daniel Mason.

On American Ninja Warrior 13, the obstacle is replaced by the V Formation.

Due to the immense difficulty of the previous obstacles, only one competitor, Jean Tezenas du Montcel, was able to attempt and clear this obstacle. The obstacle was replaced by the Flying Bar in the following season.

In Ninja Warrior Germany, the Snap Back, locally called Flug-Wippen (literally Flying See-Saws), first appeared in Ninja Warrior Germany 5, serving as the sixth obstacle of the Semi-finals of said season. The obstacle consisted of three sets of horizontal bars instead of only two, none of which had Plexiglas blocking the latter half of the sets of bars, requiring competitors to only jump/shift to the other bar, instead of using a reverse grip.

In Ninja Warrior Germany 6, the Snap Back then reappeared, serving as the fifth obstacle of the second Preliminary Round of said season. This time, the number of sets of horizontal bars was reduced to two, alongside two additional laché bars placed at both ends of the obstacle, and a rope used as a medium to reach the first bar.

Ninja Warrior UK[]

On Ninja Warrior UK 6, the Snap Back appeared as the eighth obstacle during the semi-finals. This time, a stationary lache bar was placed initially as a medium to reach the first bar. The obstacle itself consisted of two sets of bars, similar to American Ninja Warrior 11, but with no Plexiglas on either, requiring competitors to only jump/shift to the other bar instead of using a reverse grip, which, on the other hand, was similar to the Snap Back of Ninja Warrior Germany 5 and 6.

Due to its placement as the eighth obstacle, many competitors felt fatigue after completing them. As a result, several competitors fell from the first and second bars, or had problems with swinging. As a result, the obstacle eliminated 12 of the 18 competitors who attempted it and was a cut-off for completing the course.
