In qualifying, his run was digested, but it was shown that he cleared the course in 52.8 seconds, which was good enough for 24th place and a spot in the semifinals.
In the semi-finals, despite his age, he easily cleared all nine obstacles in 1:55.5 seconds, which was the fastest time up to that point. However, at the end of the day, he placed 19th overall and did not move on to the finals.
