Note: The audition was not broadcast as the season premiere until SASUKE Vietnam 5.

Stage One

Stage One is a split-stage. The first two obstacles are the same, but the producer will decide which competitors run the right-handed course (Stage 1A part) or the left-handed course (Stage 1B part).

On the first two seasons of SASUKE Vietnam, the stage had no time limit. Starting on SASUKE Vietnam 3, the stage had 100 seconds time limit, then increased to 135 seconds on SASUKE Vietnam 4 and 180 seconds on SASUKE Vietnam 5.

From SASUKE Vietnam 1 to SASUKE Vietnam 4, both Stage 1A and Stage 1B had 6 obstacles. However, on SASUKE Vietnam 5, the Stage 1A had 5 obstacles and Stage 1B had 6 obstacles.

On SASUKE Vietnam 1, only 40 competitors from Top 20 on Stage 1A and Top 20 on Stage 1B, who completed the course (or made the furthest) with the fastest time will move on to Stage 2. However, this rule was removed from SASUKE Vietnam 2 onward.

Stage Two

Stage Two had 6 obstacles (5 obstacles on SASUKE Vietnam 4) with 100 seconds time limit on the first two seasons of SASUKE Vietnam, but the time limit was removed on SASUKE Vietnam 3 and SASUKE Vietnam 4, then 180 seconds time limit on SASUKE Vietnam 5.

Stage Three

Stage Three had 6 obstacles (7 obstacles on SASUKE Vietnam 5), without time limit. Unlike most SASUKE/Ninja Warrior international format, this stage had the rule. The rule was changed on every season. This is the rule on SASUKE Vietnam 5:

  • After clearing an obstacle, competitors had 45 seconds to rest before attempting the next obstacle (including Hang Climbing, Crazy Cliffhanger, and Flying Bar) . However, competitors had 10 seconds to rest before attempting the Pipe Slider.
  • Competitors were only allowed to return to the starting platform up to three times if they failed on the obstacle (if they not touched the water of not disqualified). If they did it on the fourth time, they would be disqualified.

Stage Four

Competitor was climbing 24m Mount Midoriyama tower (Tháp Midoriyama) with 30 seconds (35 seconds on SASUKE Vietnam 4). If they clear the stage, they would earning kanzenseiha. However, who was clear with the fastest time also earned as the champion of the competition and reached the cash prize.

The current champion of the competition is Lê Văn Thực on SASUKE Vietnam 2, when he cleared the stage with 6.44 seconds left, beating David Campbell (0.73 seconds left), and Nguyễn Phước Huynh (0.64 seconds left) and reached VND 800,000,000 cash prize.
