Ryan Sanders is a college student from Erie, Pennsylvania. He is also the husband of fellow competitor Jennifer Sanders.
Ryan initially received the call to compete on American Ninja Warrior 12 in Washington D.C.[1] However, when the pandemic altered the season, Ryan did not end up making the final cut. Jennifer however, did end up making the cut for the altered season, being recruited as part of Lucas Reale's team that season. Sanders was only shown on the virtual sidelines for Jennifer's runs that season, and did not get a shot to compete until two seasons later in ANW 14.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
He first competed in the second qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he cleared the course in his rookie debut, placing 9th overall.
He later competed in the first semifinals episode. His run there was also digested, but he was one of five competitors that night who failed Ghost Town. He placed 11th overall and advanced to the national finals as a rookie.
His run at the national finals was cut, but he was one of ten competitors to go out on the third obstacle, Giant Rollercoaster.[2]
He has not been chosen to compete since. He has applied for ANW 15&16, 17, and 18, but never received a call to compete on any of the seasons afterward.
