Andrew "Roo" Yori is a lab technician from Rochester, Minnesota. He is known for his nickname "Roo" because of his love and passion for rescuing stray dogs. Roo, along with his wife, Clara, are the founders of the Wallace the Pitbull Foundation, an organization helped to improve the lives of stray dogs.

American Ninja Warrior 8[]

Andrew first competed in Indianapolis in American Ninja Warrior 8, where he cleared the qualifying course placing 19th.

In the city finals he was one of the many competitors that failed the Hourglass Drop. By the end of the night, he was on the bubble in 15th place, with only Lorin Ball left to run the course. However, Ball fell early and did not make the Top 15, so Roo advanced to Vegas.

On Stage 1, his run was cut, but it was revealed that he failed the Jumping Spider. Interestingly, his full run was shown on ANWNation as an exclusive, where it showed that he took a cautious approach on the first three obstacles, but didn't land far enough into the chute.

American Ninja Warrior 9[]

He returned in American Ninja Warrior 9 in Kansas City. In qualifying his run was cut but it was revealed that he failed Crank It Up and did not make the Top 30.

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

Yori made another return in American Ninja Warrior 10 in Minneapolis. His run was digested in qualifying, but it showed that he failed the Diamond Dash. But luckily, his pace was fast enough to place 27th and move on to the city finals.

In the finals, he looked strong early, clearing the first two obstacles with ease. However, whether due to nerves or lack of focus, he shockingly failed the trampoline jump to the Sky Hooks, and failed to move on to the national finals again.

Check

Roo receives the check from the creators of The Secret Life of Pets 2, worth $20,000.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

He competed in Atlanta for his fourth season. For the first time since his debut, he finished the qualifying course, placing 15th. Also, with the Atlanta qualifying round promoting the 2019 film, The Secret Life of Pets 2, Roo was in for a major surprise. For his completion on the course, the creators of the film awarded him a $20,000 check for his nonprofit organization, The Wallace the Pitbull Foundation.

During the city finals, he made it to the eighth obstacle, Up for Grabs, before falling. Unfortunately, he didn't make it there fast enough to make the top 12 and advance to Vegas. His pace placed him 15th, just short of the leaderboard.

American Ninja Warrior 12[]

He returned for his fifth season, this time bringing two cat lovers alongside him, Cassie Dierks and Jackson Twait, to promote adoption of cats and dogs. In qualifying, his run was digested, but it was shown that he attempted the Mega Wall, but failed to scale it. He finished the course, scaling the regular wall, placing 12th. His semi-finals run was also digested, but shockingly, he fell on just the second obstacle, Off the Hook, an obstacle that he had been able to complete twice in the past, thus not moving on to the finals.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

He returned for his sixth season in the fifth and last qualifying episode. His run was cut, but it was revealed that he failed on Sideways, but he still made it far enough to place 25th overall and moved on to the semifinals. He later competed in the last semifinals episode. His run there was also cut, but it was revealed that he failed the 8th obstacle Crazy Clocks. Since a majority of the competitors made it to the next obstacle, he was once again eliminated in the semifinals.

American Ninja Warrior 14[]

He returned for his seventh season in the third qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he cleared the course in 15th place despite missing the Mega Wall. He later competed in the third semifinals episode. There, he failed on Clockwork, an obstacle he barely missed out on attempting two years ago, after his hands peeled off the second bar. This marked the fifth year in a row where his season ended in the semifinals.

American Ninja Warrior 15[]

Roo announced before the season started that this was gonna be his last appearance. He competed in the second qualifying episode. His run was digested, but it was shown that he failed on Ring the Bells, but he once again advanced to the semifinals, placing 9th overall. He later competed in the first semifinals episode, taking on Barry Boyd. In the race, Roo started off strong, but eventually fell on Hopscotch. As such, he lost to Boyd and saw his season end in the semifinals for the sixth consecutive time.

Roo has since retired from ANW, but he is still asking people to donate dogs from a shelter.
