Rolling Escargot (ローリングエスカルゴ) is an obstacle originally introduced in SASUKE 26's First Stage. It was placed as the third obstacle, indirectly replacing Rolling Maruta from the previous tournament.

Competitors must latch onto a disk, facing the disk, holding onto handles and jamming their feet into toe clips. Then, they would start down the track, which was angled to the left for safety reasons, rotating slowly about four times before finally made the dismount to the landing platform, although some competitors like Travis Furlanic and Flip Rodriguez leap midway in the air to save time.
Much like the Body Prop was to the Spider Walk, this obstacle could be considered a cousin of the Rolling Maruta.

The Rolling Escargot was proven to be a deadly obstacle, as losing the grip on one of the handles or toe clips briefly was usually enough to cause failure. Throughout the three tournaments it was present, the obstacle eliminated top competitors such as:

Overall, it alone eliminated almost half of the field. Some competitors (e.g. Yamada Katsumi and Urushihara Yuuji) were forced to stop the obstacle and finished in a more energy draining way, while others (e.g. Travis Furlanic and Flip Rodriguez) have jumped for the mat early to save time.

From SASUKE 27 onwards, it became the second obstacle and the toeclips became more closed in footholds. While this modification arguably made the obstacle easier, it still eliminated more competitors than any other obstacle did in the tournament, giving it a lethal status as a feared obstacle.

It was notably one of the few obstacles to be retained for the course redesign in SASUKE 28 and was almost completely unchanged, with the exception being that the landing mat was smaller and more unstable, making the strategy of jumping halfway became much riskier than before. Despite its overall difficulty, the Rolling Escargot was removed in SASUKE 29 in favor of the Log Grip's return.

It was again modified in SASUKE 28, with the obstacle now painted in silver and the landing platform was replaced with a small floating mat. Also, a small cylinder pipe was placed above the track to avoid the wheel from potentially derailing.

In its debut, it caused turbulence as it was so hard to clear this obstacle, taking victims such as Komiya Rie, Ishimaru Kenjirō, Miyazaki Daisuke, Kanno Hitoshi, Yamamoto Shingo, and Takahashi Kenji. It should be noted that all of the mentioned defeats above came even after the obstacle was modified mid-tournament, as the original design was proven to be very brutal that even three competitors, Mori Kohei, Sakakibara Tetsuji, and Kawahara Takuya, were given a chance to re-attempt First Stage.

In SASUKE 27, it received minor modifications, with the toeclips became more closed in footholds and it was relocated as the second obstacle. While the modifications make it easier, it still took down notable competitors such as Kawaguchi Tomohiro, Nakayama Kinnikun, and Mohammed Farid Isham.

It was again modified in SASUKE 28, with the obstacle now painted in silver and the landing platform was replaced with a small floating mat. Also, a small cylinder pipe was placed above the track to avoid the wheel from potentially derailing. The modifications means Rolling Escargot become one of nine obstacles in SASUKE's history to be modified in three consecutive tournaments, with the others being Jumping Spider, Flying Chute, Half-Pipe Attack, Balance Tank, Bungee Rope Climb, Vertical Limit, Sidewinder R, and Fish Bone.

The modification again proved to be effective, eliminating Darvish Kenji, Iketani Naoki (who able to clear two previous versions), Watanabe Mika, and most notably, Takeda Toshihiro. However, in the following tournament, it was replaced by the returning Log Grip.
