Rokudantobi (六段跳び), called Sextuple Step in English broadcasts, was a First Stage obstacle that was introduced in SASUKE 16 as the first obstacle. It was identical to Godantobi in function, albeit with one additional step added to the right. Additionally, the steps were smaller and raised off of the ground, giving the competitors more room away from the water, but making the gap between each step wider than Godantobi. The steps were raised their lowest in the obstacle's debut in SASUKE 16, would be raised slightly in SASUKE 17, and would be raised significantly more in SASUKE 19, a height that remained for the rest of the obstacle's tenure on the course.
It was initially replaced by Rope Glider in SASUKE 18 as part of the course's renewal, however, due to it resulting in five injuries in that tournament, Rokudantobi returned in the next tournament. It was replaced for good by Jūnidantobi in SASUKE 23.
A modified version of this obstacle called Quintuple Steps would later be used on almost all of SASUKE's international formats, such as American Ninja Warrior, Ninja Warrior UK, Australian Ninja Warrior, and SASUKE Ninja Warrior Indonesia, except the steps were much wider.
A rare rule violation was committed during Harashima Masami's performance in SASUKE 17. Apparently, competitors are not allowed to use their hands on the steps to support themselves. Harashima Masami did exactly that on the fifth step in SASUKE 17, and got officially disqualified on the Rokudantobi after originally failing the Cross Bridge.
