Reko Rivera is a Mobile DJ who has competed on seven seasons of American Ninja Warrior. Reko is most known for breathing fire, spinning fire, or putting on some sort of show at the beginning of the course.

However, many remember him as the man in a T-Rex costume on the American Ninja Warrior 8 Atlanta course and SASUKE Vietnam 2.

American Ninja Warrior[]

American Ninja Warrior 4[]

Rivera first participated in American Ninja Warrior 4, where he fell on the Swing Circle during the Southeast Qualifiers.

American Ninja Warrior 5[]

Rivera later had returned in American Ninja Warrior 5, where although his run was digested, he was one of the many competitors to fall on the Slider Jump in Miami.

American Ninja Warrior 6[]

In American Ninja Warrior 6, he managed to beat qualifying course, placing 26th in qualifying. However, in the city finals, he was one of the many to trip on the Dancing Stones.

American Ninja Warrior 7[]

In American Ninja Warrior 7, he once again beat qualifying, holding the 16th fastest time. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to make the dismount on Cannonball Alley and was one of the many to fail on it, and just barely missed out on Vegas, placing 16th overall.

American Ninja Warrior 8[]

Rivera's actual run was completely cut from broadcast during the Atlanta qualifying, but Rivera was recognized by many on the internet as the man in the T-Rex costume that passed the Floating Steps, Big Dipper, Block Run, and even scaling the Warped Wall. The run went extremely viral, as it currently has over 2.3 million views on YouTube as of 2019. Achieving a total of around 160 million views between Facebook and YouTube.

In qualifying, he placed 14th overall. Unfortunately, Rivera himself once again failed to reach Vegas in the city finals, as he fell on the Salmon Ladder. He placed 17th overall in the finals.

American Ninja Warrior 9[]

In ANW 9, Reko returned in Daytona. Although his qualifying run was cut, it was shown that he cleared the qualifying course for the fourth consecutive year. Reko placed 8th overall in the city qualifiers.

Although his run was digested in the city finals, he redeemed himself on the Salmon Ladder but failed the Giant Cubes. However, Reko managed to place 12th overall and after five previous seasons, he managed to earn his first shot in the national finals.

His run in the national finals was cut, but he was one of the few to fail the first obstacle, Snake Run, when he lost his balance and fell right off the course.

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

Reko Rivera competed in Miami in American Ninja Warrior 10. His run was digested, but he was one of many to fail the Slippery Summit, making it his first time in five years failing to complete the qualifying course. Rivera still was able to place 27th overall and advance to the city finals.

His run in the city finals was completely cut, but it was known that he once again failed the Salmon Ladder. However, since only 14 competitors got to the Crazy Clocks, he still managed to qualify to the national finals for the second year in a row as he placed 15th overall.

On the Stage One, he made it all the way to the final obstacle, Twist & Fly, before realizing he was going to time out, making a risky 180 lache, missing, and plummeting into the water below.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

He returned in American Ninja Warrior 11 in Tacoma. He did not receive a call back, so he competed as a walk-on for Tacoma. There, he put a fluent run for the most part, but he decided to gamble for the Mega Wall. He failed all three attempts there, failing the qualifying course for the second year in a row. However, he placed 16th at the end of the night.

His city finals run was cut, but it was revealed that he was one of many to fail the Lightning Bolts, despite beating it in qualifying. He placed 19th overall, so he ended up missing out on Vegas.

SASUKE Vietnam[]

He was also as a international competitor on SASUKE Vietnam 2, where he cleared the Stage 1B with 47.15 seconds, but he failed the Salmon Ladder on Stage 2, when he was failed transition to the 5th rung.

In his T-Rex costume, he returned as a special competitor on SASUKE Vietnam 2. T-Rex cleared the Stage 1B with 3:01.32 seconds. On Stage 2, an interesting that the T-Rex's tail touched the water on Half Pipe Attack but did not result in a disqualification. However, he once again failed the Salmon Ladder due to his same mistake when attempted as the official competitor.

Trivia[]

  • Reko was the first and so far, only competitor appeared twice in a season of international SASUKE/Ninja Warrior show away from his home country, since he appeared twice in SASUKE Vietnam 2 as a official competitor first, then reappeared as special competitor in his T-Rex costume.
    • He was also as the only competitor cleared the First Stage twice in a season of international SASUKE/Ninja Warrior show.
