Rachel Degutz is a science teacher from New Jersey who has competed in four seasons of American Ninja Warrior.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
She first completed in the fourth qualifying episode. Her run was digested, but it was shown that she failed Pretzel Twist. She placed 29th overall. In fact, she was one of five female competitors who made the top 30 that round.
In the second semifinals, she was the first runner of the night. She had a big performance, being only one of seven to make it through Padlock. She ended up falling on Tuning Forks at Split Decision. She was the top female competitor of the night as she placed 7th overall in the top 15. She was also the only competitor who went for that obstacle at Split Decision that round.
Her run in Vegas was digested, but she was one of seven competitors who failed the third obstacle, the Double Dipper, after she didn't let go of the second bar to the dismount. She did try to save herself, but it was already too late, and her hands peeled off.
American Ninja Warrior: Women's Championship 2[]
Rachel then competed in the second Women's Championship. Her run in the first round was digested, but she failed on just the second obstacle Lunatic Ledges and didn't advance to the second round.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
She returned for her second season in the second qualifying episode. Her run was digested, but it was shown that she was the first competitor shown on air to get the ball onto the middle cradle on Carnival. She later once again failed on the fifth obstacle, the Piston Plunge. She placed 26th overall, and was once again one of five female competitors to make the top 30 that round.
She later competed in the first semifinals episode, as the last women runner that episode. She cleared the first four obstacles, but she surprisingly failed on Kaleidoscope, once again failing the fifth obstacle. Despite an early fall, she still placed 3rd among the women and advanced to the Vegas finals for her second straight season.
On Stage One, her run was cut, but she mentioned on Instagram that she failed the third obstacle again, this time being the Giant Rollercoaster.
American Ninja Warrior 15[]
Rachel returned in the fifth qualifying episode. She had a smooth run, up until she failed the fifth obstacle, Lasso Launch, marking her third season doing so. She still advanced to the semifinals placing 2nd among the women.
She later competed in the second semifinals episode, where she raced against her training partner, Abby Clark. Rachel ended up winning the race as Abby failed the Hopscotch. Rachel continued her run and was able to complete the course, hitting the first buzzer of her career, and once again moving on to the national finals.
One Stage One, her run was digested, but she got past the third obstacle this time around. She then failed two obstacles later on the fifth obstacle, The Gambler, ending her best season to date.
American Ninja Warrior: Women's Championship 4[]
Rachel then competed in the fourth Women's Championship. In the first round, her run was digested, but she had a close call on the dismount of the Barrel Roll, then she got revenge on The Gambler, before falling on Thread the Needle. She placed 9th overall and just missed out on advancing to the second round once again.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Rachel returned for her fourth season in the fourth qualifier. Her run was digested, but she shockingly went out on just the second obstacle, Reel to Reel, making it the first time that she didn't advance to the national finals, let alone the semifinals, and didn't get to the fifth obstacle on a qualifying course.
Rachel is set to compete in American Ninja Warrior 17.
