Phillip Hucke is an arborist who first competed in Cleveland in American Ninja Warrior 9. Hucke is known by fans as the Beard Ninja, in which he is known for decorating.
American Ninja Warrior 9[]
His run was digested in qualifying, but it was shown that he failed the third obstacle. Razor's Edge.
American Ninja Warrior 10[]
Phillip returned in ANW 10 in Indianapolis. He almost fell on another balance obstacle, having a "close shave" on the dismount on Block Run, but was able to recover. Hucke later became one of just 10 competitors to complete the Spin Hopper. He later stumbled twice on the Warped Wall, but was able to finish the qualifier with the 8th fastest time.
In the city finals, he failed the Salmon Ladder but placed 15th overall and moved on to Vegas. His run on Stage 1 was cut but it was revealed that he failed the Double Dipper.
American Ninja Warrior 11[]
He returned in Cincinnati, competing in his home state in Ohio. In qualifying, he was shown during Akbar Gbaja-Biamila's Moments, where it was shown that he decorated his beard with Cincinnati Bengal Stripes, running in his home state. He later failed the Slingshot, slipping off the last cradle and having to sponge out all of the water out of his beard. However, it was still enough for him place 24th overall, and so he moved on.
Although he was determined to clinch a spot in Vegas, he sadly could not complete the Slingshot again. He placed 21st overall.
