American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja's Parallel Pipes

The Parallel Pipes is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the third obstacle during the playoffs on American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja.

Competitors would have to use a ring (similar to the one used on the first half of the Ring Swing) to swing out to two pipes that were parallel to each other and use them to swing to the landing platform. Nicholas Coolridge was the only competitor who fell on the obstacle, but many competitors were tripped up by the obstacle.

On Ninja Warrior UK 5, the Parallel Pipes appeared as the fourth obstacle in every qualifying heat. However, the obstacle featured 5 thinner pipes instead of 2 thick pipes (with the fourth and fifth pipes being placed equally high), and the ring was replaced by the following in each heat:

  • two hanging ropes (similar to the ones used on the Rope Swing into Cargo Net) in Heat 1,
  • a trapeze swing in Heat 2,
  • a swing (similar to the one used on the Swing Jump) in Heat 3, and
  • three rings in Heat 4.

An additional rule was imposed, in which the competitors must go under the pipes.

This time, the obstacle featured 5 thinner pipes, a trampoline at the starting platform, and a trapeze swing to reach the first pipe (an incredibly similar to the Parallel Pipes used in Heat 2 on Ninja Warrior UK 5). Therefore, the obstacle was named as the Trapeze to Parallel Pipes.
