Ninja Warrior Spain (also known as Ninja Warrior: 1) was the first season of the international SASUKE/Ninja Warrior format in Spain. The show was recorded from Madrid Arena, in Madrid, and premiered on June 9th, 2017 at Antena 3. The hosts of this first season were the actor and television presenter Arturo Valls and the radio sportscaster Manolo Lama and the sideline reporter of this season was the television presenter Pilar Rubio. Out of the over 6000 applicants, who applied to participate in this first season, 200 competitors participated across 4 Preliminary Round and Semi-finals episodes and one Finals episode, which aired on July 7th, 2017.
The Castings[]
The Castings for this first season of Ninja Warrior España got carried out in the Spanish cities Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville. Out of the over 6000 applicants, only 200 best applicants would get selected to participate in the actual season.
The Qualifications[]
The Preliminary Rounds and the Semi-finals were run over in 4 episodes in total, with one Preliminary Round and one Semi-finals being shown in the same episode. Out of the 50, in each Preliminary Round, participating competitors, the 15 best/fastest competitors of each Preliminary Round would advance to the Semi-finals. In the Semi-finals, only the 6 best/fastest participants of each Semi-finals would advance to the Finals of the season. There was no time limit in both the Preliminary Rounds and the Finals Qualification.
