Ninja Warrior Germany Kids 2 was the second installment for the children's edition of Ninja Warrior Germany. Due to the cicumstances brought by the COVID-19-pandemic in Germany, the show was recorded in the MCC Studio (Coloneum) in Cologne, Germany for the very first regular season. Also, due to the fact that the pandemic was still critical at that time of the recordings, the different episodes got recorded without an audience, which meant that only close relatives and the Ninja-Coaches of the kids competitors with a negative PCR-test could be present at the sidelines. The premiere episode of the season was aired on October 10th, 2021 at RTL. This time, the hosts of this season were Frank Buschmann & Jan Köppen and the sideline reporter of this season was Laura Wontorra, replacing Julia Beautx from the previous Kids season.
This time, 40 kids competitors were at the start of the season, and were first evenly spread across four different Preliminary Round episodes. After that, the best kids competitors of the four Preliminary Rounds were spread across two Semi-finals episodes (with one half being present in one Semi-finals episode) and the final competitors were then spread across two Finals episodes which both aired on October 31st, 2021.
The Qualifications[]
This time, the Preliminary Rounds were run over in four episodes in total. There were 10 kids competitors in each of the Preliminary Rounds and only a half of them, or the Top 5 kids competitors in each of the Preliminary Rounds (the five kids competitiors placed in the leaderboard shown at end of the Preliminary Round), i.e. either five finishers (in case of exactly five) or the five furthest fastest* (in case of zero finishers), would definitely advance to the Semi-finals.
*Note: In case of more than five finishers, only the fove best finishers would advance, and in case of less than five but more than zero finishers, the furthest fastest along with the other finishers would advance.
The New Additions[]
Format Changes[]
The Removal Of The Age Brackets[]
After the previous season of this spin-off, in which there would be one age bracket for the 10-11 years old and one for the 12-13 years old, the age brackets mentioned before would now be removed and all kids competitors would participate in one, large age bracket, similar to Ninja Warrior Israel Junior.
The Ninja Coaches[]
In addition to the above change, every single kids competitor here would now be accompanied by a Ninja-Coach, i.e. an established Elite competitor from the regular Ninja Warrior Germany seasons who would coach them both from the sidelines and behind the scenes. There were five Ninja-Coaches in total (three males and two females), and each of them would get to coach an entire "team" of kids competitiors. So all participating children would be divided equally into five groups, with one group then assigned to one of the five Coaches.
