Ninja Warrior Germany 6 (officially known as Ninja Warrior Germany - Die stärkste Show Deutschlands 2021) was the sixth season of the regular International SASUKE/Ninja Warrior format in Germany. Due to the circumstances brought by the COVID-19-pandemic, the show was recorded in the MMC Studio (Coloneum) in Cologne, Germany, making it the second straight season to have been recorded there. And due to the fact that the COVID-19-pandemic proved to be too critical at the time of the recordings, the different episodes were recorded without an actual audience, and only athletes & close relatives of them with a negative PCR-test could be present at the sidelines. The premiere episode of this season was aired on October 15th, 2021 at RTL. The hosts of this season, just as of the other seasons, were Frank Buschmann & Jan Köppen and the sideline reporter of this season was Laura Wontorra.
This season's Format.
This time, 280 competitors were at the start of the season, and were first evenly spread across seven different Preliminary Round episodes (with about 40 of them being in one Preliminary Round). After that, the best competitors of the seven Preliminary Rounds would be spread across two Semi-finals episodes (with one half being in one Semi-finals episode) and the final competitors would then be spread across two Finals episodes which were aired on December 17th & December 18th, 2021.
Ninja Warrior Germany 6 received widespread acclaim from fans and viewers. It is considered by many as one of the greatest Ninja Warrior seasons of all-time and led to increased interest in international ninja shows (Non-ANW or Sasuke) among members of the Ninja community. Unconditional praise was made towards the season's format, especially the modification of the Power Tower twist, shock value, obstacles, and casting, particularly the two Grand Champions Moritz Hans, Rene Casselly and the season's last women standing Stefanie Eddelman, who became only the third women in any regular Ninja Warrior competition to clear Stage 2. In 2023, a community poll by The Ninja Masters (a Ninja Warrior fan-ran Discord server) ranked Ninja Warrior Germany 6 2nd among every Ninja show ever made, only behind SASUKE 17.
The Qualifications[]
The Preliminary Rounds were run over in seven episodes in total. This time, there were about 40 competitors in each of the Preliminary Rounds and the Top 12 competitors in each of the Preliminary Rounds (the 12 competitiors placed in the leaderboard shown at end of the second Semi-finals episode), i.e. either 12 finishers (in case of exactly 12) or the 12 furthest fastest* (in case of zero finishers), would advance to the Semi-finals of the season. And just as in the two previous seasons, there was the additional special regulation that would make it easier for women to qualify for the Finals. This rule stated that if no female was ranked in the final regular Top 12 ranking, the Top 2 females outside of this Top 12 still got to advance to the Semi-finals. If only one female was ranked in the regular Top 12, then the special rule only applied to the next best female outside the Top 12. And if at least two females were ranked in the final Top 12, this special rule would no longer apply. In addition, the Preliminary Round compeititors could once again try the 5.50-meter-high Mega Wall. The participants who would manage to clear the Mega Wall on their one and only try would not only receive a 2,000 € cash prize, but would also secure their spot for the Semi-finals, which means that they would advance even if they did not finish in the Top 12 of their Preliminary Round.
*Note: In case of more than 12 finishers, only the 12 best finishers would advance, and in case of less than 12 but more than zero finishers, the furthest fastest along with the other finishers would advance.
The New Additions[]
New Gimmicks[]
The New Power Tower[]
This time, the 4 best/fastest, instead of the 2 best/fastest, participants of each Preliminary Round would compete, head-to-head, on the Power Tower. In the first match of the Power Tower, the 1st place of each Preliminary Round would compete against the 4th place of each Preliminary Round, and in the second match of the Power Tower, the 2nd place of each Preliminary Round would compete against the 3rd place of each Preliminary Round. Both of the winning competitors of these first two matches would receive a cash prize of 5,000€ and would then compete in a third and final match against each other. The winning competitor of this final match would receive the Speed Pass (mistakenly called Safety Pass by the producers of Ninja Warrior Germany), meaning that the competitor would automatically advance to the Finals of the season.
New Obstacles[]
Just as in the previous season, there were "new obstacles" in this season, i.e. obstacles which had already been in American Ninja Warrior before, but have never been used in any of the previous regular seasons of Ninja Warrior Germany. The new obstacles used in the Semi-finals of this season were the following:

The Semi-finals[]
The Semi-finals were run over in two episodes in total. There were about 40 competitors in each of the Semi-finals episodes and only the Top 33 competitors of both Semi-finals episodes (the 33 competitiors placed in the leaderboard shown at end of the second Semi-finals episode), i.e. either 33 finishers (in case of exactly 33) or the 33 furthest *fastest (in case of zero finishers), would advance to the Finals of the season along with the seven Power Tower winners, which means tha 40 athletes would definitely qualify for the Finals.
The seven Power Tower winners of each Preliminary Round would also have a chance to attempt the Semi-finals course but it wouldn't affect the official leaderboard, since they are already automatically qualified for the Finals.

Format Changes[]
The New Semi-finals Format[]
After Ninja Warrior Germany 5, in which there were two Semi-finals episodes with different courses & leaderboards, one Semi-finals course would now be run across two different episodes, and the final leaderboard of the season's Finalists would count the top competitors of both Semi-finals episodes.
The Course Type[]
In correlation to the above mentioned format change, the course type of the Semi-finals would now be shorter and more speed-based, which made it similar to the ones of the Semi-finals Qualifications, with six obstacles in total.
The Speed Reward[]
For the first time in regular Ninja Warrior Germany competitions, there would now be additional cash prizes, known as the Speed Reward (Speed-Prämie) cash prizes. This means that the best of all the Semi-finalists, including the seven Power Tower winners, at end of the second Semi-finals episode would receive a cash prize of 10,000 €, the second best would receive a 5,000 € cash prize and the third best would receive a 2,500 € cash prize.
*Note: In case of more than 33 finishers, only the 33 best finishers would advance, and in case of less than 33 but more than zero finishers, the furthest fastest along with the other finishers would advance.
Obstacles[]
① Rib Run (Rippen-Lauf)
② Pole Grasper (Hangel-Mikado)
③ Wingnuts (Schwing-Flügel)
④ Criss Cross Salmon Ladder (Doppelte Himmelsleiter)
⑤ Ring Chaser (Ring-Jagd)
