Ninja Warrior Germany 2 (officially known as Ninja Warrior Germany - Die stärkste Show Deutschlands 2017) was the second season of the International SASUKE/Ninja Warrior format in Germany. The show was recorded from June 15th to June 21st, 2017 in dm-arena - Messe Karlsruhe. The premiere aired on August 12th, 2017 at RTL. The hosts of this season, just as of the previous season, were Frank Buschmann and Jan Köppen and the sideline reporter of this season was Laura Wontorra. This time, 350 competitors were at the start of the season, who were first spread across seven different Preliminary Round episodes (with about 50 of them being in one Preliminary Round). After that, the best competitors of the seven Preliminary Rounds would be spread across one Semi-finals episode and the final competitors would then be spread across one Finals episode which aired on October 1st, 2017.
The Qualifications[]
The Preliminary Rounds were run over in seven episodes in total. This time, there were about 55 competitors in each of the Preliminary Rounds and only the Top 20 competitors, i.e. either 20 finishers (in case of exactly 20) or the 20 furthest fastest* (in case of zero finishers), of each Preliminary Round would advance.
Note*: In case of more than 20 finishers, only the 20 best clear times would advance, and in case of less than 20 but more than zero finishers, the furthest fastest along with the other finishers would advance.
The New Additions[]
Format Changes[]
The New Qualification Format[]
After Ninja Warrior Germany 1, in which the "Preliminay Rounds" had a function that was completely equivalent to the function of a Semi-finals Qualifications, there would now be "actual" Preliminary Rounds (seven in total) which would serve as a Qualifier Round for the new & renamed Preliminary Rounds of Ninja Warrior Germany 1, the Semi-finals Qualifications. Each of these new Semi-finals Qualifications would take place after the Preliminary Round it represents, and there were 20 competitors in each of the Semi-finals Qualifications, with only the Top 8 competitors, i.e. either eight finishers (in case of exactly eight) or the eight furthest fastest* (in case of zero finishers) advancing to the "new" Semi-finals of the season.
The Course Types[]
In correlation to the above mentioned format change, the amounts of obstacles plus the course type of the Semi-finals Qualifications were now similar to the ones of the Finals Qualifications used in Ninja Warrior Germany 1, with five obstacles per Semi-finals Qualification.

The Semi-finals[]
The New Additions[]
Format Changes[]
The General Format[]
After Ninja Warrior Germany 1, which consisted of four different Finals Qualficiation episodes, the Finals Qualifications got re-named to Semi-finals, and there would now only be one singular episode, instead of four. In correlation to this change, the format would be altered majorly as well. There would now be 56 competitors in the Semi-final, and only the Top 28 competitors, i.e. either 28 finishers (in case of exactly 28) or the 28 furthest fastest* (in case of zero finishers), of this Semi-finals would advance to the Finals of the season.
Note*: In case of more than 28 finishers, only the 28 best finishers would advance, and in case of less than 28 but more than zero finishers, the furthest fastest along with the other finishers would advance.
The Course Type[]
In correlation to the above mentioned format change, the lengths and amounts of obstacles of the Semi-finals now got increased significantly to eight obstacles in total, making the course longer and pumpier.
Obstacles[]
① Floating Steps (Fünfsprung 2.0)
② Ring Swing (Ring-Schaukel)
③ Prism Tilt (Dachwippen)
④ Cargo Crossing (Cargo-Netz-Wippe)
⑤ Wind Chimes (Windspiel)
⑥ Warped Wall (Die Wand|Height: 4.25 meters)
⑦ Coin Flip (Chaosteller)
⑧ I-Beam Gap (Hangel-Träger mit Sprung)
⑨ Chimney Climb (Kamin|Height: 7 meters)

The Finals[]
The Finals of this season was run over in 1 episode. Here, the 28 remaining participants would battle against four Stages in total, in order to become the first winner of Ninja Warrior Germany.
