Ninja Warrior France: Clash of Nations, formally known as Ninja Warrior: Le Choc des Nations, is Ninja Warrior France's first international tournament. On June 28th, 2023, during a back-to-school press conference of TF1, the special got officially confirmed by the producers, and was already been filmed back in April of the same year. The location is at Vieux Port de Cannes in Cannes. This international special was split into two episodes, which aired on TF1 on July 12th and July 19th, 2024, and is the second one (after the three SASUKE Vietnam international tournaments) to be broadcasted in two separate episodes instead of one. As usual, Denis Brogniart, Christophe Beaugrand once again returned as hosts and commentators, and Iris Mittenaere returned as the sideline reporter.

As a side note, this international tournament was initially confirmed by Urushihara Yuuji in his official YouTube channel by various videos about his journey in France.

Competitors[]

Unlike several international special competitions from American Ninja Warrior, SASUKE Vietnam, SASUKE Ninja Warrior Indonesia, Australian Ninja Warrior and Ninja Warrior Germany, this international special featured five teams (instead of three/four teams), with each team consisting of four male competitors and one female competitor in total. This competition hold the record for most teams in a international tournament until the announcement of the SASUKE World Cup 1 with seven.

Team Germany Team Japan

Competition Format[]

The competition worked as follows:

  • Stage 1
    • There were 5 rounds in this stage, with each round consisting of 5 competitors (1 competitor from each team).
    • A point is gained for every obstacle completed and the team that earned the least amount of points would be eliminated, while the team that earned the most amount of points would automatically qualify for Stage 2.
    • Competitors are given the opportunity to attempt the 5.5-meter-high Mega Wall. If a competitor cleared the Mega Wall on their first (and only) attempt, they would receive two points and could attempt the final obstacle afterwards, with a maximum points of seven earned for this stage.
    • The rest of the teams would advance to the Repechage.
    • The points would be reset to zero before the commencement of Stage 2.
  • Repechage
    • This stage consists of the 9 metre high Invisible Ladder (Le Ascenseur de l'Extrême) tower.
    • The captain of each team would choose one representative from the team (the captain can also nominate oneself) to attempt the stage.
    • Each competitor would attempt the Invisible Ladder one after the other and only the best among all three would move on to Stage 2.
  • Stage 2
    • In this stage, the Top 10 competitors across all teams would earn points for their respective teams. The competitor that placed in first would earn 10 points for their respective team, the second place would earn 9 points and so on, till the tenth place would only earn one point.
    • The points would be accumulated, and the team who got the lowest points would be eliminated from the competition.
  • Stage 3
    • In this stage, the Top 6 competitors across the remaining competitors would advance to the Final Stage.
      • Originally, the classic SASUKE format was to be used, as all the remaining competitors must complete the stage in order to advance to the Final Stage.
      • However, there was a malfunction on the third obstacle (the Final Frontier), which basically rendered the obstacle inoperable. As a result, the difficulty is drastically easier (as competitors were now allowed to simply grab the orbits of the Final Frontier), which prompted the producers to overhaul the format at the very last minute.
  • Final Stage
    • This stage consisted of a 23-meter Rope Climb and the remaining competitor would attempt this stage one after the other.
    • In the end, the competitor who cleared the Final Stage with the best time overall would win the competition. It is beneficial when there are multiple competitors from the same team to make it to this stage in order to maximize its chances of achieving the best time.
