Not to be confused with the Eskimo Ninja, Nick Hanson.
Nick Hanson is a rugby player from Iowa. As such he is known as the Rugby Ninja.
He also has the nickname Nick Hanson 2, since he is the second ninja on the show named Nick Hanson.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
He completed in the last qualifying episode. His run was digested, but it was shown that he failed on Sideways. His time to the obstacle placed him 22nd overall and he moved on to the semifinals. Ironically, Nick Hanson, who also has the same first and last name, was on the sidelines supporting Hanson during his run.
He later competed in the second semifinals episode. He was one of many who failed on Padlock. His time to the obstacle was good enough for him to moved on to the national finals in his rookie season as he placed 13th overall.
Unfortunately, despite advancing to the National Finals, he did not compete in the national finals due to COVID-19 contact tracing. He was replaced by Jonah Muñoz.
American Ninja Warrior 17[]
After missing the previous three seasons, Nick returned for his second season in the third qualifying episode, having recently graduated from Bethel University and revealing aspirations to compete in the Olympics in Rugby.
On the course, he had no issues with the first two obstacles, but went out on Log Runner, an obstacle he cleared the last time he competed. In comparison to his attempt the last time he competed in ANW 13, Nick's footing was slightly off on the third log, causing him to lose momentum and fail the obstacle. He didn't advance to the semifinals this time around.
