Moritz Hans is a German wood mechanic, and also a sports climber, who participated in every regular Ninja Warrior Germany season, Team Ninja Warrior Germany 1 and 2, Ninja Warrior Germany: Four Nations Special 1 (as a part of Team Germany) and Ninja Warrior Germany All-Stars. In Ninja Warrior Germany, Hans is one of the main faces and fan favourites as he is one of the seven people who have a perfect regular season attendance record (the others are Christian Balkheimer, Christian Kirstges, Daniel Schmidt, Gary Hines, Marvin Mitterhuber and Sladjan Djulabic). In fact, Hans is considered by a vast majorty of the Ninja Warrior Germany community to be the greatest Ninja Warrior Germany competitor of all time due to his combination of extraordinary strength and efficiency, his calm & composed nature on difficult obstacles and, most notably, his several achievements and major successes in his overall Ninja Warrior Germany career. In fact, since the start of his career on the show, Hans has proven season after season and time after time that he can arguably be considered the most accomplished competitor in the show's history, as his most notable moments on the long list of his accomplishments in the regular seasons includes him becoming the second ever Last Man Standing of Ninja Warrior Germany (in Ninja Warrior Germany Season 2), becoming the first ever person in the history of regular Ninja Warrior Germany to make it to the Final Stage three times, (in Ninja Warrior Germany 6, 7 & 9), and (most notably) becoming the first ever person in the history of regular Ninja Warrior Germany to complete the Final Stage, achieving Total Victory in Ninja Warrior Germany Season 6. However, Hans unfortunately completed the Final Stage slower than the other finalist of said season, René Casselly, which meant that he would neither receive the winner cash prize of 300,000 €, nor the title of the first winner of Ninja Warrior Germany. This moment, and his overall record of multiple second place finishes in the past are the main reasons as to why many fans of Ninja Warrior Germany believe he deserves to win the show the most out of everyone. Apart from his incredible amount of achievements, Hans has demonstrated an almost unrivaled long-term consistency, as he has had streaks of six straight Second and Third Stage appearances in a row, including a 6/6 clear rate on the Second. In addition, Hans was no less successful in the Ninja Warrior Germany spin-offs, reaching the Finals in both Team Ninja Warrior Germany seasons (along with his teams Taraxacum & Fusion) and in Ninja Warrior Germany All-Stars, proving that he is a true all-round Ninja Warrior athlete and that his overall status within the community of Ninja Warrior Germany is certainly more than justified.
Aside from his participations in Ninja Warrior Germany, Hans is also known to not only have participated in the 13th season of the German format of Dancing with the Stars (Let's Dance), in which he got a 2nd place finish overall, but also in the Celebrity Special of Ninja Warrior Switzerland, which Hans won.
Personal Life[]
Moritz Hans is the younger brother of Philipp Hans, who is a Veteran competitor, as well as a popular faces of Ninja Warrior Germany. And in all of the show's seasons in which they competed together, they were known as the Hansbrüder (Hans Brothers), due to their unbreakable sibling bond.
Long before Ninja Warrior Germany, both Moritz and Philipp practiced rock climbing. They both got to know the sport through their father in a rock climbing gym and later became a part of the performance group of the Swabia section of the German Alpine Club (German: Deutscher Alpenverein, or DAV for short). At the age of 13 years, Moritz Hans was the first to take part in national competitions and, since 2010, in international competitions. His successes in the climbing sport include:

History[]
Ninja Show Series[]
Ninja Warrior Germany 1[]
In 2016, Moritz Hans participated in the first ever season of Ninja Warrior Germany along with his brother Philipp Hans. He first participated in the third Preliminary Round and cleared the course with a time of 03:50.00, finishing ninth in his Preliminary Round.
He then participated in the third Finals Qualification in order to become one of the 28 competitors, who would participate in the Finals of the season. There, he cleared the course with a fast time of 00:53.90 finishing second in his Finals Qualifications.
On the First Stage in the Finals of the season, despite being one of the favourites of the season, Hans failed on the fourth obstacle of the stage, the Jump Hang (Cargo-Netz mit Trampolin), achieving the 21st place overall. For a long time, this was Hans' first and only First Stage fail, until he failed the First Stage of Ninja Warrior Germany 8.
Ninja Warrior Germany 2[]
In 2017, Moritz Hans participated in the second season of Ninja Warrior Germany, once again with his brother Philipp Hans. He first participated in the fourth Preliminary Round and cleared the course with a time of 03:33.50, finishing sixth in his Preliminary Round.
He then participated in the fourth Semi-finals Qualification. There, he cleared the course with a time of 01:45.00, finishing second in Semi-finals Qualification.
In the, newly added, Semi-finals, Hans completed the entire course with a time of 03:41.80, finishing eight in the Semi-finals of the season.
On the First Stage in the Finals of the second season, Hans advanced at a rather cautious pace throughout the entire course, but still managed to clear the First Stage of the Finals for the first time, doing so with 00:09.70 seconds remaining on the clock.
On the Second Stage of the Finals, Moritz Hans attempted the stage as the second runner and managed become the first competitor of Ninja Warrior Germany to clear this stage, despite struggling a little bit on the Unstable Bridge (Doppelte Hängebrücke) and on the final obstacle of the stage, the Wall Lifting (Hebebrücken), doing so with 00:08.50 seconds remaining on the clock and advancing to the Third Stage.
There, Moritz Hans cleared the first two obstacles of the stage, the Curved Body Prop (Spannungsbogen) and the Floating Boards (Schwebende Türen). On the third obstacle of the stage however, the Cliffhanger (Die Fingerleisten 2.0), Hans would struggle, despite being an established Sports climber, possibly due to exhaustion, and failed the transition to the fifth ledge. This performance however was still good enough to grant Moritz Hans the 1st place finish/Last Man Standing title of the season, becoming the second Last Man Standing of Ninja Warrior Germany, after Oliver Edelmann.
Team Ninja Warrior Germany[]
In 2017, after the the second season of Ninja Warrior Germany, Moritz Hans participated in the first installment of Team Ninja Warrior Germany as the captain of his team, Taraxacum, along with his members Kim Marschner and Lilli Kiesgen. They first participated in the fourth Preliminary Round.
Ninja Warrior Germany 3[]
In 2018, Moritz Hans participated in the third season of Ninja Warrior Germany as one of the favourites, regarding the first competitor to achieve Total Victory.
He first participated in the sixth Preliminary Round and cleared the course with a time of 01:45.50, finishing second in his Preliminary Round.
He then participated in the sixth Semi-finals Qualification. There, Hans cleared the course with a time of 01:12.43, once again finishing second in his Semi-finals Qualification.
In the Semi-finals of the season, Moritz Hans became one of 14 competitors to complete the Semi-finals course, doing so with a time of 04:20.90, finishing fourth in the Semi-finals of the season.
On the First Stage of the Finals of the third season, Hans advanced at an efficient pace throughout the entire course, and managed to clear the First Stage of the Finals for the second time in a row, doing so with 00:32.01 seconds remaining on the clock.
On the Second Stage of the Finals, Moritz Hans once again managed to clear the stage, despite struggling a little bit on the final obstacle of the stage, the Wall Flip, advancing to the Third Stage.
There, Moritz Hans cleared the first two obstacles the Curved Body Prop (Spannungsbogen) and the Floating Boards (Schwebende Türen) with little trouble and then took on his nemesis of the previous season, the Cliffhanger (Die Fingerleisten 2.0). And unlike in the previous season, in which Hans struggled on the Cliffhanger, he managed to clear the Cliffhanger becoming the second competitor (after Kim Marschner), to do so in Ninja Warrior Germany. After that, Hans took on the final obstacle of the stage, and also the second to last obstacle of the entire course, the Flying Bar (German name: Stangenflug). Just as Kim Marschner however, Moritz Hans unfortunately failed the Flying Bar, with him coming up short of the third cradle, granting him a good 3rd place finish overall.
Ninja Warrior Germany: Four Nations Special 1[]
Team Ninja Warrior Germany 2[]
Ninja Warrior Germany 4[]
He returned once again in the fifth Preliminary Round as one of the favorites where he once again conquered the course with 04:02.03 landing in eighth place where he bettered his pace in the Semi-finals qualification by once again conquering the course this time with the second fastest time with 02:02.33 going back to the Semifinals. In the Semifinals, Moritz made it deep into the course where he made it to the next to last obstacle, Stair Hopper but shockingly failed it but still moved onto Stage One in 11th place. On Stage One, he had no problems with the course and left over 38 seconds on the clock moving onto Stage 2. He cut it close on Stage 2 finishing the course with just under seven seconds left but for the second season in a row, the Flying Bar where he failed the transition to the second cradle where this time he got 2nd place of the entire season.
Ninja Warrior Germany 5[]
He returned once again in the fifth Preliminary Round where he once again conquered the course and became the second ninja to complete the Mega Wall winning 2,000€ and moving onto the Semifinals in 7th place. In the Semi-finals, Moritz came out with a vengeance and for the second time in the season conquering the Mega Wall and won another 2,000€ and then conquered the remaining obstacles to complete the course and then got the fastest time of the night. Moritz on his return to Stage 1 was the next to last runner of the night where he conquered the course again this time with just over six seconds moving onto Stage 2 once again. On Stage 2, he once again conquered the course this time with just over 17 seconds left. On Stage 3, he had his earliest fall by failing the second transition on Cane Lane ending his season.
Ninja Warrior Germany All-Stars 1[]
Ninja Warrior Germany 6[]
He returned this time in the second Preliminary Round where he wanted to avenge his fall from the previous season where this time he got the fastest time in his qualifying round and the fourth ninja that season to conquer the Mega Wall winning 2,000€ and qualifying for the Power Tower where he went against Marvin Mitterhuber and beat him winning 5,000€ and then in the final heat went against Lukas Kilian and won the Speed Pass automatically qualifying for Stage 1. In the Semi-finals, he already won the Speed Pass so he took some risks on the course but he shockingly failed the Criss Cross Salmon Ladder. On Stage 1, he flew through the course once again and finished the course for his (fifth straight time) with just over six seconds left. On Stage 2, despite struggling with Dragonback still conquered the course with just over six seconds left. On Stage 3, he conquered the Cane Lane which took him out last time making it all the way back to the Flying Bar where after failing it the two past times, he finally conquered it and the whole course becoming just the second competitor to clear the Third Stage in Ninja Warrior Germany History and was later joined by René Casselly.
On the two-person-Final Stage, three years after Alexander Wurm's Final Stage attempt, Hans went first, becoming the second person to attempt the 20-meter Rope Climb in regular Ninja Warrior Germany. With the tension and hopes of his fellow competitiors being high, he started his crack at the Final Stage and would display a rather rocky start on the first quarter of the rope as he only used his hands first. As he reached neared the halfway point, however, Hans would start to use his feet on the rope and majorly improved his pace. With less than 10 seconds remaining for the last quarter and with Hans starting to run out of steam now, it looked grim for him at first, but he kept using his last bit of strength and will until the historic moment arrived - Hans reached and pressed the button with just 1.08 seconds remaining on the clock, amazingly becoming the first person to achieve Total Victory in regular Ninja Warrior Germany seasons and the first "Final Stage Conqueror". After his amazing effort however, in heartbreaking turn of events, René Casselly, his fellow Finalist and ultimate rival, managed to clear the Final Stage nearly two seconds faster than Hans (with 2.99 seconds remaining to be precise), which meant that because of the official rules, Hans would neither receive the cash prize of 300,000 €, nor the title of "1. Ninja Warrior Germany". However, as he still did the amazing effort of conquering the Final Stage, Frank Buschmann, the host of Ninja Warrior Germany stepped in, suggested that Hans should not be left empty-handed and declared that would receive a consolation cash prize of 25,000 € (equivalent to the Last Man Standing). And while Hans still felt heartbroken after all of this, he was still happy about his performance, took the loss sportsmanlike and congratulated the "1. Ninja Warrior Germany", René Casselly for his amazing success. This performance granted him the 2nd place of the entire season (his second 2nd place finish in his regular Ninja Warrior Germany career).
Ninja Warrior Germany 7[]
After his incredible, but also heartbreaking performance in Ninja Warrior Germany 6, with him becoming the first ever participant in the history of Ninja Warrior Germany to complete the Final Stage in a regular season, achieving Total Victory, but not receiving the cash prize of 300,000€, due to René Casselly clearing the Final Stage faster, Moritz Hans returned in 2022 and participated in seventh season of Ninja Warrior Germany.
He first participated in the second Preliminary Round as the final participant of said Preliminary Round and, as expected, would perform well, completing the new obstacles of the Preliminary Round without any trouble and even overcoming the Mega Wall yet again, which granted him a cash prize of 2,000€. At the end of the day, Hans cleared the entire course with a time of 02:27.16, despite the fact that he took a little bit of time at the Mega Wall, finishing fourth in his Preliminary Round, which meant that he would advance to the the new Duel Course. In the first match of the Duel Course, Moritz Hans had to compete in a head-to-head race against the first place finisher of his Preliminary Round, which was Marco Müller and won this first match, receiving a 5,000€ cash prize and also advancing to the final match of the Duel Course. There, he had to compete against the winner of the other match, which was the winner of Ninja Warrior Germany All-Stars 2, Lukas Kilian (coincidentally he was also Moritz Hans' opponent in the final Power Tower match of the second Preliminary Round in Ninja Warrior Germany 6) and won that race as well, receiving the Speed Pass, which granted him an automatic advance to the Finals.
But despite the fact that Moritz Hans had already qualified for the Finals by winning the Duel Course matches, he still participated in the Semi-finals of the season, taking part in the second Semi-finals episode. And due to the fact that Hans knew that he had already qualified for the Finals, he wanted to take the risk of advancing at a very fast pace throughout the course, in order to win one of the Speed Reward cash prizes. This plan paid off nicely, with Moritz Hans clearing the Semi-finals course with an impressive time of 01:01.09, despite the fact that he lost a little bit of time on the second obstacle, the Swinging Blades, finishing the Semi-finals with the second best time overall, only being behind René Casselly, receiving the 5,000€ Speed Reward cash prize and continuing his streak of dominant performances.
On the First Stage of the Finals of the seventh season, Hans would overcome the pumpy obstacles and also the strict time limit of the stage, and would clear the stage with 00:04.23 seconds remaining on the clock, becoming one of only seven competitors to clear the First Stage of said season, and advancing to the Second Stage for the sixth consecutive season in a row.
There, Hans completed the entire stage without any significant trouble, doing so with 00:15.19 seconds remaining on the clock, impressively advancing to the Third Stage for the sixth consecutive season in a row.
There, Moritz Hans cleared the first five obstacles very efficiently and without any kind of trouble, advancing to the final obstacle of the Third Stage, the Leaps of Faith. And unlike the four other competitors, who failed the final, blind grab, transition of the obstacle, Moritz Hans impressively would clear said blind grab transition, subsequently clearing the obstacle and the Third Stage once again, becoming the first ever competitor in the history of Ninja Warrior Germany to clear the Third Stage in the Finals more than once and joining the other Finalist of the season, Max Görner, in the new Final Stage (Mount Midoriyama).
There, Moritz Hans would attempt the Final Stage as the latter of the two Finalists. With the hopes of the other competitors now lying on the shoulders of Moritz Hans, he would start his Final Stage attempt, although not being very confident about the new Final Stage, which he mentioned in his post Third Stage run interview, and would display a good pace on the first obstacle of the new Final Stage, the Chimney Climb. As he reached the transition to the second obstacle, the Salmon Ladder, however he would start to slow down significantly, with him being very cautious on the Salmon Ladder. With the time now starting to run out and with him having no hope of achieving his second Total Victory, Moritz Hans would eventually derail the bar at the transition to the 4th rung, bringing his, up to that point, good performance to an end. And despite the fact that this performance was worse than the performance of the other Finalist of the season, Max Görner, who derailed the bar of the Salmon Ladder at the transition to the 7th rung, which meant that he would achieve the 2nd place finish for the second consecutive season in a row, Moritz Hans was still happy that got this far and congratulated the Last Man Standing of the season, Max Görner for his success.
Ninja Warrior Germany 8[]
On his Instagram account, Moritz Hans announced that he will return and participate in the eighth season of Ninja Warrior Germany. According to a reply, that Moritz Hans wrote in the reply section of this Instagram post on June 15th, 2023, he is set to first participate in the fifth Preliminary Round of the season. Moritz returned with a bang in the fifth round as he conquered the dangerous Piston Plunge with the fourth fastest time of the night so he qualified for the Super Salmon Ladder. But on the Super Salmon Ladder, he did get the third fastest time but, didn’t win the Speed Pass.
He returned in the first round of the Semi-finals where Moritz got through the Lighting Bolts which was brutal in the semi’s but on Flipped Around, he couldn’t transition from the middle set of handles to the second triangle board, marking the first time he failed the Semi-finals course since Ninja Warrior Germany 6. Moritz did qualify for Stage One in 10th place after the Semi-finals.
Moritz returned for Stage One and got through Slide Surfer easily but failed the Swinging Blades (an obstacle he had gotten through with ease during the previous season's Semi-finals). causing one of the biggest shocks of the night after he built up a too little of a swing and landed on the edge of the platform where he lost his balance then fell into the water. This marked the first time he failed the First Stage since Ninja Warrior Germany 1 and the first time he won’t make it back to the Final Stage since Ninja Warrior Germany 5.
Ninja Warrior Germany 9[]
In 2024, Moritz Hans then returned to Ninja Warrior Germany, participating in the ninth season of Ninja Warrior Germany after his very shocking exit in Ninja Warrior Germany 8, and aimed to regain his original consistency. He followed his shocking failure from the year before, by becoming only one of two finishers in the first Preliminary Round of the season, and was the first Ninja that season to try the new Mega Wall 2.0, but missed, marking that the first time he failed the Mega Wall in any Ninja Warrior Germany competition. He was able to qualify for the Super Salmon Ladder in 2nd place (04:34.32) and would get 2nd right behind Lukas Kilian, walking away with 2,500€ for his effort and in the Semifinals, he kept going on his returned momentum by hitting his second buzzer of the season in the Semifinals, placing 17th overall, and then would go on to complete the First Stage, finishing with 13.42s left on the clock, being one of seventeen people that season to complete the First Stage, proving that his early exit from last season wasn't for nothing as he went on to complete the Second Stage, and then made history by becoming one of three to climb the Final Stage, and he also became the first person ever in Ninja Warrior Germany to reach the Final Stage three times, but he timed out half-way up the Rope Climb, and missed out on Last Man Standing yet again, getting second place to Rene.
