Mori Wataru Quad Steps

Mori Wataru failing the Quad Steps in SASUKE 34

Mori Wataru (森 渉) is an actor who has competed in several SASUKE tournaments and also Sports Danshi. He is married to voice actress Tomoko Kaneda who also has competed on SASUKE 31 where he was with her on the starting line. At SASUKE 33 it was announced that Tomoko was five months pregnant with their first child.

He first competed in SASUKE 16 and failed the Sandan Rolling Maruta.

His next tournament was SASUKE 21 where his run was digested - with only his fail on the Jumping Spider shown.

After taking a 8-year hiatus he returned in SASUKE 32, wearing #82. He did well, making it to the top of the Lumberjack Climb before timing out.

He competed in the following tournament, SASUKE 33 wearing #83. There he cleared the First Stage for the first time. In the Second Stage he made it further than all of the other celebrities that made it to stage 2 that tournament by making it past the Salmon Ladder. He had over 20 seconds left when he made it to the Reverse Conveyor, but due to the speed being faster, and having been wet from the Backstream, he slipped all over the obstacle and timed out there.

He returned in SASUKE 34 wearing number #90. His wife was on the sideline supporting him, after it was revealed that she gave birth to their daughter a week prior. He showed great promise but slipped up on the Quad Steps when he stepped too high on the last step, causing his left foot to slip and him only getting one leg on the step. He attempted to hold on with his arms, but he swung backwards and his back skimmed the water, ending his run.

He competed in SASUKE 35, wearing #71. Despite putting up a strong effort and being just the second person to clear the Dragon Glider behind Hioki Masashi, he eventually timed out on the Soritatsu Kabe due to his slow pace.

He came back again in SASUKE 36, wearing #76, and cleared the First Stage with 3.07 second left. In his return to the Second Stage, Mori managed to clear with 0.55 second left. However he did not advance to the Third Stage as it was revealed that he used his legs to support himself on the sides of the Reverse Conveyor. This is something which is against the rules and thus he was disqualified.
