Miura Eiichi (三浦 英一) is a former Construction Worker and Surfer who competed in the first nine SASUKE tournaments, making him one of only four competitors to compete in all nine SASUKE tournaments when it is still part of Kinniku Banzuke as opposed of being an independence show, with the others being Tatsukawa Tomihiro, Yamada Katsumi, and 'Mr. Perfect Attendance' Yamamoto Shingo. Despite his success in First Era, he never cleared the First Stage after the renewal.
First Era[]
He had good record in the First Era of the show. In SASUKE 1, wearing #40, he managed to clear First Stage easily, leaving over 20 seconds left on the clock. However, in Second Stage, he lost his balance near the end of Goren Hammer, eventually failing there.
He returned for SASUKE 2, wearing #30. He performed well, clearing unchanged First and Second Stages. Third Stage seemed to possess no threat to him and it looked like he will be the first competitor ever to clear Pipe Slider, however, while he tried to touch down, he was unaware that there is a little gap between the end of the track to the landing platform, leaving him touching down rather carelessly, resulting in him going down the water. This would remain his best run in his career.
After his performance, he was expected to perform well in SASUKE 3, which signified by him given #83, which is the first time he had a number inside the last twenty numbers. However, he shocked everyone when he failed in the first obstacle, Maruta Nobori.
However, he proved that his last tournament's performance was merely a blip, as in SASUKE 4, he went all the way to the end of Third Stage again, but Pipe Slider proved to be his nemesis once more, as this time, he even fail to attempt the swing to the mat. Final Stage is once again out of reach.
He then later witness Akiyama Kazuhiko achieving Kanzenseiha, which leads to the first renewal of the show. This proved to be costly for him, as he never again clear First Stage, let alone attempting Third Stage.
Second Era[]
During the Second Era, he struggled the most with Jump Hang, which is one of the new obstacles introduced in SASUKE 5. He only manage to clear it once in SASUKE 7, where he later timed out on Soritatsu Kabe. All the other four tournaments ended in the same fashion: him failing to clear Jump Hang. After SASUKE 9, he never compete again.
Trivia[]
- In his SASUKE 1 appearance, while his profile shown that he is a Construction Worker, the Announcer repeatedly said he is a Surfer during his First Stage's run. It is probably likely that prior to him being a Construction Worker, he is indeed a Surfer, as Miura himself never said that the Announcer said his occupation incorrectly.
- Miura has the current best result for #30 and #40 with 2 different numbers.
- Miura's clear in SASUKE 2 would be the first time a competitor with the number #30 has cleared.
