He first competed in the second qualifying episode. His run was cut, but it was revealed that he failed on V Formation and by placing 10th, he advanced to the semifinals. He later competed in the third semifinals episode. His run there was also cut, but it was revealed that he failed Padlock and he didn't go fast enough to land in the top 15. However, Chris Behrends had to withdraw due to COVID-19 contact tracing, and Mike advanced to the national finals as an alternate. His run was cut for a third time, but he was briefly shown to have failed on the Fly Hooks, the final obstacle of Stage One, ending his rookie season for good.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
He returned to compete in the last qualifying episode. His run was once again cut, but he fell on Final Frontier. Despite this, he placed 26th overall and moved on to the semifinals. In the semifinals, his run was shown for a change, and he played patty cake with his daughter Lindsey at the start line. On his run, Mike was the first of many to fall on Hopscotch, ending his season.
