American Ninja Warrior 9[]

Michael first competed in Daytona Beach in American Ninja Warrior 9. His run in qualifying was cut, but he finished the course placing 17th.

During the city finals, he shared his story about how his Jamaican grandma Vina and aunt Charmaine raised him in Brooklyn, New York after his mom passed away due to vehicular homicide. He failed the Giant Cubes, and he placed 15th overall and moved on to Vegas. His run on Stage One was digested, but it was shown that he failed the Double Dipper.

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

Michael returned to compete in Miami in American Ninja Warrior 10. In qualifying, he failed the Slippery Summit, losing his grip just inches away from the landing platform, but placed 30th overall and moved on to the city finals.

In the city finals, he got revenge on the Slippery Summit, but he later failed the Crazy Clocks. At the end of the city finals round, however, he placed 6th overall and moved on to Vegas for the second straight year.

However, in Vegas, history repeated itself as Johnson failed the Double Dipper on Stage One for the second straight year.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

Michael is now having a friendly competition with Eddy Stewart, calling themselves Fire and Ice. Unfortunately, he was taken out early by Block Run when his tall legs skimmed the water at the end of the obstacle, shocking many in the process.

Eddy did a lot better, advancing to the city finals, but neither of them were able to beat the qualifying course.

American Ninja Warrior 12[]

His run was digested, but he failed the Slingshot inches away from clearing. Although he wasn't fast enough to make it into the top 13, he was one of the many to be rumored of filling up the top 13 spot.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

Michael competed in the third round of qualifying where his run was digested, but he was one of ten to go out on the fourth obstacle, Air Surfer, when his feet interfered with the board landing in the cradle. He didn't make the top 30, and so he failed to advance to the semifinals of a season for the third straight year. This is his last known American Ninja Warrior competition.

He was later shown rooting for Vance Walker during his run, where it was revealed that he cites him to be one of his main inspirations.
