Michael Eckert is an army Sargent, from Winter Park, Florida, who first competed in the Southeast region of American Ninja Warrior 4.
American Ninja Warrior 4[]
In ANW 4, his run in qualifying was digested, but it was shown he cleared the course, placing 17th overall and moving on to the finals. In the semi-finals, his run was cut from the broadcast, but it was revealed he cleared the entire course, placing 5th overall and moving on to the national finals. In Vegas, his run was digested, but it was shown that he was one of many to fail the Jumping Spider.
American Ninja Warrior 6[]
He returned to compete Miami in American Ninja Warrior 6. In Qualifying, his run was cut but it was revealed that he finished the course, placing 17th overall. In the city finals, his run was cut again but it was revealed that he failed the Spider Climb, being one of three that day to go out on it. However, he did place 8th overall and move on to the national finals. His run on Stage 1 was cut, but it was revealed that he failed the Spinning Bridge.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
After a seven-season absence, Eckert competed in the fourth episode of qualifying in American Ninja Warrior 14. Here, he made short work of the first two obstacles, but failed the Despicaballs on Split Decision. This meant he didn't advance to a semifinals round let alone the national finals for the first time in his career.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
He returned for the seventh qualifier round in American Ninja Warrior 16 where in a digested performance he shockingly failed the Duck Duck Goose but placed 13th place and ran in a Runoff race against Ricky Vu. He had the lead through most of the course until he failed the Wingnuts but lost the race to Ricky after he cleared Wingnuts, marking the second straight time he didn’t advance to the semifinals or National Finals once again.
