American Ninja Warrior 9[]

Matthew first competed in Cleveland in American Ninja Warrior 9. In qualifying his run was cut but it was revealed that he failed to scale the Warped Wall but he did place 15th and moved onto the city finals. In the city finals, he got up the Warped Wall this time around but failed the eighth obstacle, Nail Clipper, where he placed 11th and advanced to the national finals. His run on Stage One was cut but he finished with 31.52 seconds left, and on Stage Two, he failed Wingnut Alley in an all-cut performance where he made it to the final wing nut.
