Matthew "Matt" Wilder is a data research scientist who is best known for his nickname, Dr. Climb. He first competed on American Ninja Warrior 6 in the Denver Qualifiers.

Wilder first competed in Denver in American Ninja Warrior 6 where he cleared the qualifying course.
In the city finals, Matt had a miraculous run on the city finals course. He first struggled on the Spikes into Cargo, taking numerous attempts before completing it. He later struggled on the Arm Rings, as he wasn't able to lock in the left ring. Despite being exhausted, Wilder improvised and solely relied on using the right-hand ring. He was able to swing to the landing platform, barely completing the obstacle. Although he later failed the next obstacle, the Doorknob Arch. his run to that point placed him 13th and so he advanced to the national finals,
His run on Stage One was digested but it was shown that he failed the Spinning Bridge.
American Ninja Warrior 8[]
Matt returned to compete in Indianapolis in American Ninja Warrior 8. His run was cut in qualifying but he finished the course placing 16th.
In the city finals, his run was digested but it was shown that he failed the Hourglass Drop. Wilder managed to place 14th and advance to the national finals. His run on Stage One was cut, but it was revealed that he failed the Flying Squirrel.

In American Ninja Warrior 9, he competed in Denver. His run in qualifying was digested, but it was shown that he failed the Paddle Boards, failing to advance the top 30.
Trivia[]
- On both ANWNation.com and NinjaGuide.com, it was erroneously reported that Matt failed the Rail Runner in ANW 9's Denver Qualifier. However, it was shown on broadcast that he failed the previous obstacle, the Paddle Boards, and actually did not attempt the Rail Runner.
- Because of this, it was incorrectly stated that 24 competitors failed the Rail Runner, as they counted Wilder as failing it. A total of 23 competitors actually failed it in Denver qualifying, with only one competitor (Rhett Allen) failing the obstacle and not moving on to the city finals.
- Before his first run in ANW 6's Denver qualifying, Wilder received eighteen stitches on his arm due to a circular saw accident. Despite the surgery, he managed to finish the qualifying course on his first course in competition.
