Matsuda first qualified for SASUKE 19 by being one of the eight finalists to attempt the Muscle Park course. There, he was the winner, beating out fellow cliffers Urushihara Yuuji and Yamamoto Keitaro. In the tournament, he showed good speed, beating the first three obstacles in decent time. He then was only the second person to beat the Jumping Spider that day. Therefore, he was only the second person to try the new Half-Pipe Attack. While he was able to grab the rope with two hands, his grip gave way and he fell into the water there.
He competed in the trials for SASUKE 20, but did not qualify. However, he still competed in SASUKE 20. While his run was all cut, it is known that he made it to the Soritatsu Kabe but timed out there.
