Mathis Owhadi is a business student from Tomball, Texas, who is known by many for his nickname, "The Kid". Owhadi is of French descent, being able to speak French fluently.

He was first seen in the crowd cheering on James McGrath during the Atlanta finals on American Ninja Warrior 8 and Nate Burkhalter during American Ninja Warrior 9 in San Antonio.

Owhadi first competed in Team Ninja Warrior: College Madness as a member of the Houston Cougars team. His team lost against the Georgia Bulldogs in the relay showdown, when his teammate, Zach Tamayo, failed the Salmon Ladder. He then competed in American Ninja Warrior: Ninja Vs. Ninja as a member of Team Iron Grip, captained by Daniel Gil.

American Ninja Warrior[]

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

Because of the age eligibility drop on American Ninja Warrior, Owhadi was able to compete in American Ninja Warrior 10 at the age of 19. Because of his massive experience, Mathis Owhadi was able to dominate the qualifying course in Dallas, blazing through most of the obstacles despite being a first-time competitor in the regular season. He attempted the Mega Wall but barely missed out on scaling it, barely being able to grip one hand on top. However, Owhadi managed to scale the regular 14'6' wall on his one attempt and finished the qualifying course with the 4th fastest time. He was also the first 19 year old to clear a course.

Owhadi also continued his rookie season by finishing the city finals course, qualifying for the national finals in 5th place.

In Stage One, he was the final runner of the first half of the national finals, and became the second-youngest person ever to clear Stage One, with 40.29 seconds left on the clock, the overall third-fastest time of the First Stage. However, he was unable to beat Wingnut Alley of Stage Two. Ultimately, Kid ranked as one of the top rookies of American Ninja Warrior 10, along with Zach Day and R.J. Roman.

American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. the World 5[]

Mathis was later announced to be competing for Team USA in American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World 5. He said that he was originally from France and has love for both teams but he was competing for Team USA tonight. He was the final runner for the second heat on Stage One where Mathis flew through the course getting the fastest time out of all the runners in his heat along with finishing nine seconds faster than Jake Murray in the regular season. Mathis was shown supporting his fellow competitors throughout the rest of the competition but he and Team USA was still able to win the competition.

American Ninja Warrior: All Stars Special 4[]

Mathis was chosen to compete in the final Team Kristine where he was the runner on the middle obstacles where he was flying which caused him to shockingly fall on the final tire on Tire Run which caused Team Kristine to be sent to Stage Two and he didn't get to run again in the team competition due to Barclay Stockett failing on the Criss Cross Salmon Ladder which got them eliminated early.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

Owhadi returned to compete in Oklahoma City in American Ninja Warrior 11. He was the the final runner of the night, and was trying to get both the Mega Wall and the Power Tower. He managed to breeze through the first 5 obstacles in just over 70 seconds. When he reached the Warped Wall, he decided to go for the Mega Wall. However, he missed on his first two attempts, thus, losing his spot in the Top 2. However, in shocking disbelief, he missed on his third attempt which resulted in a fail. However, his time was still adequate to advance to the city finals, as he placed 14th overall.

During the city finals, he was the last competitor of the night. He performed exceptionally on the course, completing the course with the second fastest time. He later faced off against Daniel Gil in a Student vs. Master competition on the Power Tower, they were neck-and-neck at first, until Kid pulled through at the end and won against Gil, securing the Safety Pass. Owhadi was the final runner of Stage One and breezed through the course finished with almost 52 seconds left, the fastest time of the season. Owhadi was the second runner in Stage Two and fell on Grim Sweeper when he hit the 2nd sweeper when his knee hit it causing him to not get a good grip and falling. Owhadi cashed in his Safety Pass and finished Stage Two with 11 seconds left. Owhadi got to Stage Three but was taken out on the Ultimate Cliffhanger when he made the jump to the final ledge but he couldn't get to the next ledge and fell.

American Ninja Warrior: All Stars Special 5[]

Mathis wasn't chosen for the team competition this time around but in a Power Tower rematch, he went up against Daniel Gil on the Fearsome Ferris Wheel where they both went blindfolded but since Daniel went farther than Mathis, he got eliminated early and Daniel moved onto the final round.

American Ninja Warrior 12[]

Owhadi returned to compete in American Ninja Warrior 12, now competing under the label "Kid Owhadi". In the fourth and final qualifying episode, his run was shown in a fast forward, likely due to Drew Drechsel being on his virtual sidelines. He decided to go for the Mega Wall for the third year in a row, but he failed to complete it again. He ended up finishing with the fourth fastest time.

In the Semifinals, Owhadi was shown as the first runner of the first semifinals round. He made it to the Corkscrew obstacle designed by Josh Norton, who failed in qualifying. He survived on the first drop but on the second drop he spun into the water. He was eliminated by Jesse Labreck and it was the first time that Owahdi did not advance to the finals as he placed 14th overall.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

Owhadi returned to compete on American Ninja Warrior 13 and in the first qualifying episode, was shown as the first runner again. He got to Split Decision and quickly chose to take on the Spinning Log for his third obstacle but in a stunning turn of events, he had a misstep and fell and this marked the second time he wouldn't advance to the national finals along with the first time that he failed to make it to the semifinals or reach the final obstacle in the qualifiers.

Ninja Warrior France[]

Ninja Warrior France 7[]

Owahdi went to France to compete in their seventh season of Ninja Warrior. He cleared the Mega Wall in qualifying (after failing it on ANW) on his first attempt, winning the prize then getting the pass to the Finals. Mathis then returned to compete in the National Finals finishing the course but didnโ€™t place into the Top 7, placing ninth, so he had to race on the Battle of the Steel Tower. Mathis raced against Matthias Noriel and beat him moving onto Stage Two. On Stage Two, he was the first runner and beat the timed part with 29 seconds left. On the untimed part, he cleared the Ultimate Cliffhanger (after also failing it on ANW), then shockingly failed Slingshot, ending his season.
