Long Jump (ロングジャンプ) is a First Stage obstacle that was introduced in SASUKE 29. Competitors has a runway about 25 metres in length to build up speed needed to clear a 4.5 metre-gap (this gap was toned down to 3.3 metres for woman competitors and competitors over 50 years old). To soften the impact, the landing platform is filled with sand.

In its debut, it took out several competitors, notably Sato Hiromichi. It injured Nagano Makoto, causing him to time out on Ni Ren Soritatsu Kabe. However, in SASUKE 30, only eight competitors failed here, probably the reason it was replaced by Rolling Hill in SASUKE 31.

In a recent interview, Masato Inui, the current producer of SASUKE, mentioned that the obstacle had a variety of impacts on competitors, such as making them hesitant to run or the sand sticking onto competitor`s legs which burdens them as they progress the stage. In addition, the obstacle is very labor intensive where the crews had to level the sand pit after every run and the platform runs the imminent risk of being damaged because of the continuous landing from competitors, which became one of the reasons where it is removed after two tournaments.

SASUKE Vietnam 1's Long Jump

In SASUKE Vietnam 1, the Long Jump, literally translated Nhảy Xa, appeared as the first obstacle in Stage One (1A and 1B). The gap was revealed to be only 4 meters for both male and female competitors, a lower gap than the gap of the one used in SASUKE. Due to this, the obstacle was very easy, as it has a 98.52% completion rate in Stage 1A and 96.83% completion rate in Stage 1B. This resulted in the obstacle being replaced by the Godantobi (Nhảy Bước 4) in the next season.
