Kuboki Hironori (久保木 浩功) was a graduate student studying physics at Tokyo University when he attempted SASUKE in three separate occasions.
After timing out on the Soritatsu Kabe in his rookie effort on SASUKE 6, he watched a video tape of that obstacle and came up with a formula to beat it.
His next attempt on SASUKE 7, he cleared it in one shot and had the fastest First Stage time that day. In this new Second Stage, he was able to clear with 5.1 seconds left and made it all the way to the Third Stage. He made it all the way to the Cliffhanger before failing the transition to the second ledge.
However, in his next appearance in SASUKE 8, he shocked many when he failed the new first obstacle of the First Stage, the Godantobi.
Trivia
- According to the analysis by Hironori, a competitor can grab the summit of the Soritatsu Kabe by flying at a height of 1.96m from the bottom of the wall at a speed of running 100m in 28 seconds (approx. 12.86km/h or 3.571m/s). Though, according to his illustration, this assumes that the Soritatsu Kabe is 5m tall from the lowest point to the top, instead of its usable height of 4.3m, measured from the floor of the obstacle to the top.
