Personal Life[]
Carolyn Kawasaki "Kaiya" is an American born, well known talent in Japan. Kaiya started in the early days of her career as a model and eventually went on to marry Mayo Kawasaki. She is well known in Japan for playing up a role of a "stereotypical" American.
KUNOICHI[]
Kaiya appeared twice in the competition, KUNOICHI.
She made her first appearance at the 5th tournament in 2006. She started out screaming and swearing at the Buyoishi. Unfortunately, she lost her balance on the spring-loaded stone and jumped into the water.
Her second appearance was made at KUNOICHI 6. Given #36, she took a more careful approach on the course, she was able to beat the Fuyuu Sou. Unfortunately, her technique was scrapped at the second obstacle, the Sankaku Bashi, where she fell off the platform before starting the obstacle due to too much momentum.
VIKING[]
Kaiya did not participate in the main tournaments, but rather the Pair tournaments.
She made her first appearance at Pair VIKING 1, with her husband. Kaiya had trouble with Rendezvous Run but was able to make it through, and clear the next few obstacles. She and her husband were eliminated when he slipped off the Island Escape.
Kaiya also appeared at the 3rd Pair battle. Here, she competed with her eldest son. Kaiya was able to make it through Rendezvous Run with little trouble. She was able to easily pass Scuba Diving. Finally, on the High Speed Slider, Kaiya slid off the landing platform due to the slick conditions from the rain.
