Intro[]
KUNOICHI 5 (officially,「KUNOICHI 2006謹賀新年」, literally KUNOICHI 2006 New Year) is the first tournament since Miyake Ayako's Kanzenseiha in KUNOICHI 4. For this the tournament was revamped and the Second and Third Stages were given new obstacles.
The First Stage was virtually the same from the previous tournament. Only one new obstacle was added, Kioizaka. The results were harsh, as only 6 women cleared the First Stage, and most timed out at the end.
In the Second Stage, the Chou Touhan returned, and a new obstacle the Furiko Michi was introduced. Only one woman, Mirabella Akhunu was taken out.
In the Third Stage, there were two new obstacles named Mujouheki and Mugendou. The Tourenban took out 3 women. Only Komiya Rie and Miyake Ayako made it to the Finals.
In the Final Stage, the tower consisted of 10 meters Hashigo Tobi and 5 meters Tenkubou. Komiya Rie timed out, while Miyake Ayako earned a second victory with 7.7 seconds. This makes her the only competitor to achieve kanzenseiha twice until Urushihara Yuuji achieved that feat five years later in SASUKE 27.
