Jonah Bonner is a gondolier from Newport Beach, California who competed in American Ninja Warrior 11.

His experience as a gondolier requires him to row for an average of four hours straight, which greatly exercises his forearms and helps him trains for American Ninja Warrior.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

During Los Angeles qualifying, though his run was digested, Jonah was perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the night. As an unknown rookie, he completed the course, placing 11th overall and he had the slowest time out of the eleven finishers in the Los Angeles qualifying course, but he also stood as one of four rookies to finish the course entirely.

During the city finals, he completed the front half of the course without a sweat but he struggled on the Salmon Ladder, likely due to inexperience on the obstacle. While he did complete it, he was so spent he fell shortly after on The Hinge. Since thirteen competitors completed The Hinge, he didn’t have a shot at Vegas, ultimately ranking 18th out of the 33 city finalists competing, not moving onto the National Finals.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

Jonah competed in the second round of qualifying for ANW13. His run was all cut, but it was revealed he failed V Formation. However his time to the obstacle was enough to place 18th overall.

His run in the semifinals was all cut once again, but he failed Tilt-a-Whirl.[1] As a result, he wouldn't be going to Vegas once again.

American Ninja Warrior 14[]

Jonah competed in the fifth qualifier round of season 14. His qualifying run was all cut, but he managed to clear the course, landing in the 14th spot overall. He did attempt the Mega Wall in his run, but couldn’t complete it.

He later competed in the second semifinals round, being shown as the first runner on broadcast. He had a fun run, but like just in ANW11, he failed on the eighth obstacle, going out on the Box Office. This time around, he placed 11th overall, advancing him to the national finals for the first time.

His Stage One run at the national finals was digested, but despite getting hung on both the Three Ring Circus and the Giant Rollercoaster, he made it through the first seven obstacles. Since he was running low on time, he went for The High Road and he just barely missed grabbing it with his right hand, ending his best season so far.

Even though his season ended, he was shown giving Levi Enright and Chris Behrends a ride in a gondola in the Stage Two waters.
