John Uga is a former bricklayer and current policeman from Everett, Massachusetts. He has competed in five seasons of American Ninja Warrior.

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

In qualifying, his run was cut, but he was one of many to fail the Lightning Bolts. He managed to stay in the top 30, just placing 30th overall.

In the city finals, his run was once again cut, but he failed the Lightning Bolts again. He placed 24th overall and did not move on to the national finals.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

He was originally selected to compete on American Ninja Warrior 12, having been slated to participate in Washington D.C.[1] However, due to COVID-19 delays, he was one of the many others who were not invited to compete on the modified season. Likely to make up for unprecedented circumstances, he did receive a call to compete on the next season.

John competed on the fourth round of qualifying. His run was cut, but he made it to the fifth obstacle once again, going out on Pretzel Twist. He placed 19th overall and advanced to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, he competed in the second round. At the start line, he made an entrance destroying a brick wall. From there, he made great work of the first seven obstacles, marking the first time he attempted/completed the Warped Wall in any ANW tournament. He was later one of many to go out on the eighth obstacle, Padlock. However, his pace there granted him the last spot on the leaderboard, as he placed 15th overall. As such, he was able to move on to the Las Vegas national finals in his sophomore season.

His run in Vegas was digested, but it was shown that he failed the Jumping Spider, slipping off the spider-walk portion.

American Ninja Warrior 14[]

John returned for his third season, competing in the second round of qualifying. His run was cut, but he failed on Piston Plunge, marking his third season doing so. He still advanced to the semifinals by placing 25th overall.

He later competed in the first semifinals round. His run there was digested, but just like during the semifinals of Season 10, he failed the fifth obstacle, going out on Kaleidoscope, ending his season.

American Ninja Warrior 15[]

John returned to compete in American Ninja Warrior 15's sixth qualifier. For once, his qualifier run was shown in qualifying, being broadcasted in full. John failed The Getaway, marking the first time he didn’t make it to the fifth obstacle in qualifying. He ended up placing 12th, so for this reason, he had to race Daniel Novarro for the final spot in the semifinals. During the race, both competitors failed Hopscotch, but John got there first, winning the race.

John raced against Sean Bryan during the Semifinals. John ultimately fell on Beehive, while Sean withdrew after completing Hopscotch. Nevertheless, Sean won the race, and John was eliminated.

American Ninja Warrior 16[]

John competed in the fourth round of qualifying in the fourth round of American Ninja Warrior 16. His run was cut, but he failed on Jawbreakers, once again falling on the fifth obstacle in qualifiers. He still moved onto the semifinals, this time in 11th place.

John later raced against Noah Meunier in the first semifinal episode. The race was digested, but John ultimately failed on Sideways while Noah cleared the course and won the race, thus John was eliminated in the semifinals for the third season in a row.
