Jesse Lucero's second time walking on was during American Ninja Warrior 8. He failed the Floating Steps in Indianapolis qualifying. Lucero's run took place while it was raining, severely impacting course conditions. His run was all cut from broadcast.
American Ninja Warrior 9[]
Jesse competed in Denver in American Ninja Warrior 9, as a walk on who waited in the walk-on line for 29 days. In qualifying he was one of the many competitors that failed the Rail Runner but he placed 19th and advanced to the city finals.
In the city finals, he was only one of three competitors that survived the Wedge, but that was short lived as he failed the Ninjago Roll. However, it was more than enough for him to place 3rd and move on to the national finals.
His run on Stage One was digested but it was shown that he failed the Propeller Bar.
