American Ninja Warrior 14[]

He first competed in the first qualifying episode. His run was cut, but it was revealed that he failed the fifth obstacle, Salmon Roll. His time to the obstacle placed him 28th overall, and so he advanced to the semifinals.

He later competed in the first semifinals episode. His run was digested, but he showed off one of his experiments, having liquids magically change colors. On the course, Jay made a great save on Air Surfer by hanging on with one hand on the fourth track. He later failed on Air Surfer when the board slid down to fifth board and it knocked his grip loose, ending his rookie season.

American Ninja Warrior 16[]

He competed in the last qualifier of season 16. He was the first runner of the night, and he once again showed off an experiment at the startline. On the course, Jay put up a strong run, before being the first of many that night to go out on the fifth obstacle, Ring the Bells. He placed 11th overall and once again advanced to the semifinals.

He was the 22nd seed in the fourth round of the semifinals and raced David Bergstrom-Wright. His race against Bergstrom-Wright was a very short one, as he fell almost instantly on Home Run, while Bergstrom-Wright completed the course.
