Jan Tatarowicz is a Polish personal trainer and street workout athlete who participated in Ninja Warrior Poland 2 and 3 and Ninja Warrior Poland 5 onwards. In Ninja Warrior Poland, he is considered as one of the best and most successful competitors and was firstly well-known due to his outstanding performance in Ninja Warrior Poland 7, in which he became the third ever person to have reached the Final Stage (Mount Midoriyama) in the history of Ninja Warrior Poland. In addition, he also managed to achieve the title of Last Man Standing of the season, with Jan Tatarowicz pressing the button of the Final Stage just 0.5 seconds after the time expired, producing the (at that time) best ever result by a singular competitor in Ninja Warrior Poland. In Ninja Warrior Poland 9 however, he managed to beat his own record and defied all the odds by becoming the first person to have achieved Total Victory in the history Ninja Warrior Poland. And since the other Finalist of the season, Wiktor Wójcik, had failed the Final Stage, Jan was the sole Final Stage conqueror, was declared as the winner and won the 200,000 zł cash prize.

Early Appearances[]

Ninja Warrior Poland 2[]

In 2020, Jan took part in Ninja Warrior Poland 2. His performance was shown in Episode 1. He completed five obstacles but failed to run up the Warped Wall. However, with a time of 02:59 he managed to advance to the semi-finals, where he finished the course with the fastest time. In the finals, he finished Stage One with 22 second remaining but on Stage Two he made a mistake on the Salmon Ladder where the bar slipped. He took 7th place this season.

Ninja Warrior Poland 3[]

In Ninja Warrior Poland 3, Jan appeared again in Heat 1. He beat the course with the fastest time (01:16) which turned out to be the fastest from season one to season five. In the semi-finals, he also started the course at a brisk pace, but made a mistake on Sky Hooks and did not advance to the finals this time around.

Rising Star[]

Ninja Warrior Poland 5[]

Jan qualified for Ninja Warrior Poland 5 and his performance was shown again in Heat 1. He covered the entire route with a time of 1 minute and 1 second, thereby breaking his own record and qualifying for the Power Tower, where he won the race.

In the finals, his true potential was revealed as he was one of the two competitors to complete the deadly Stage One, considered Europe's toughest Ninja Warrior circuit. In Stage Two, he also completed a timed course by waiting before pressing the buzzer waiting under the Wall Lift until the last second, taking the time to rest. In the untimed part of the course, he proceeded to the first obstacle, which was the Cliffhanger, on which he fell during the transition from the first to the second ledge, probably due to the shorter reach of his arms than Igor Fojcik. Ultimately, he took 2nd place this season, right behind Igor Fojcik, who won the program for the second time.

Ninja Warrior Poland 6[]

In 2022, Jan returned to Ninja Warrior Poland 6. His performance was shown in Heat 5, along with other strong Ninja veterans such as: Paweł Murawski, Michał Baryza and Dawid Jarosz. During the qualifying heat he completed the first five obstacles in under a minute (approximately 50 seconds), but on Warped Wall he failed his first attempt, which resulted in a 2nd time in the ranking (if he had succeeded in the first attempt, he would have had first place). From 2nd place, he advanced to the Power Tower race with Paweł Murawski, who overcame the first obstacles on the tower slightly slower than Jan, but Jan made a mistake when switching to the first Cone grip, he staggered and did not catch it in time. Catching up with his rival on boards with Unstable Bridge, however, he took 2nd place in the classification and went to the semi-finals. Overall, had it not been for two mistakes during qualifying and Power Tower, Jan would have been the fastest competitor of the stage. In the semi-finals, Jan beat the course extremely quickly in 01:30:30, advancing to the finals in first place in the semi-final classification. Competitors and program leaders were surprised with how easily and quickly he overcame the fourth, extremely difficult obstacle, Helix Hang, which eliminated many competitors from the competition and few were able to complete it.

In the finals, Jan would clear Stage One impressively fast with more than 2 minutes and 30 seconds left, being the fastest finisher of Stage One. Jan would be the last in the run order for Stage Two and after seeing all his fellow competitors fail, all eyes were on him to do well. Jan would continue his quick speed on the obstacles, but his recklessness would cost him on The Clacker where he would move the first set of clackers with way too much momentum. Jan would be unable to absorb the impact and peeled off the first set, falling into the water and ending the season.

Ninja Warrior Poland 7[]

Jan would return for Ninja Warrior Poland 7, where he would have his strongest season yet. Jan would clear Stage One with relative ease. Then he would become the third competitor in the show's history to attempt the Final Stage as he cleared the untimed portion of Stage Two. Jan was to run after Grzegorz Niecko on the Final Stage. On his run, Jan would have a great pace on the Rope Climb and it seemed like he would become the first winner of Ninja Warrior Poland. However, Jan would time up at the very top of the tower and missed the buzzer by half a second. Total Victory was just out of his reach, though Jan would become the Last Man Standing of that season.

Ninja Warrior Poland 8[]

After a near-miss in the previous season, Jan came back to get revenge on the Final Stage and possibly even achieve total victory and become the first Grand Champion of Ninja Warrior Poland. However, in a shocking turn of events, Jan would be disqualified on the Spinning Bowties in Heat 5, when he jumped too low and grabbed the red bar support of the first bowtie. This would be his earliest exit yet and he would miss the chance to even make it to the Finals.

Back-to-back Victories[]

Ninja Warrior Poland 9[]

In 2024, Jan returned to Ninja Warrior Poland 9. Being the final to attempt the Final Stage, Tatarowicz must complete the 21-meter Rope Climb within 25 seconds. He seemingly pressed the button at the top of the Final Stage tower within the 25-second time limit but the red failure signal still came up inside the studio, signifying that he must have timed out. During another replay check however, it was shown that Jan had actually pressed the button at 0.1 seconds left, thus becoming the first person to complete the Final Stage in the history of Ninja Warrior Poland and to achieve Total Victory, finally breaking the streak of no Total Victories in the show after eight full seasons.

Ninja Warrior Poland 10[]

Trivia[]

  • It took Jan exactly 24.90 to reach the top of the Final Stage tower.
  • He is the second competitor that become the only total victory of an international SASUKE/Ninja Warrior show due to the change of the format in the next season, after Tim Champion.
